Charlie Crist, a former Republican governor of Florida (now running for the position as a Democrat), was asked on “The Colbert Report” about his 2009 hug with President Barack Obama and Crist said the blowback he received for the hug was due to Obama being “not just a Democrat, [but] an African-American.”

Crist appeared on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” to discuss his book, “The Party’s Over.” As the summary on Comedy Central states, Crist was there to explain “how the rise of the Tea Party drove him to become a Democrat.” …

Colbert did get on his case for playing the race card. Shows what the Rats are about, methinks?

And John Cornyn endorsed this race-baiting racist for the US Senate in 2010.

This worthless man would have been a new Arlen Specter, helping Chuck Schumer and the democrats with literally every vote.

What Crist doesn’t realize, as he plays the race card, is that we conservatives wouldn’t like Obama if he was black, white, pink, green, red, purple or whatever. I didn’t like Carter, didn’t care for Clinton - so am I racist against whites?

I’ve assumed that he does realize it, and is just trying to silence people that he finds inconvenient.

At first I thought this was Gov. Christie of NJ, not Crist. I guess that will be the interview in a year or two.

Christ doesn’t realize I don’t like Obama for the same reason I don’t like Christ.

He's simply reaping what he's sewn, but is so arrogant he couldn't possibly blame it on his own actions. So, like every other politician without values, he plays the quickest and easiest card he can find - the "I'm the real racist" card.

Actually, Mr. Crist, your GOP career ended in 2010 when you were utterly humiliated by a far superior candidate, Marco Rubio.

As far as your record reflects, there is nothing about any "hug" (of an African-American or anyone else) that appears even remotely connected to your embarrassing fall.

I thought you might like to have the benefit of the facts before speaking next time.

PATHETIC! Flop Sweat. Based on his record, Crist should be banned from holding public office.

Some in TX seem to have growing reservations about Senator Cornball, but he still leads in the polls.

Racist dolt.

Exactly. Oboma is mulatto, but Crist immediately zeroed in on him as a black man, not a partially white man. All he saw was his dark skin.

That’s ridiculous. The only people thinking that way anymore are VERY old Democrats and supremacists of several races.

We have a mixed race president and he obtain that office with votes only from African-Americans.
