If even gays can have their “Stonewall” why can’t godly patriots do better?
A peaceful crowd of as few as one hundred just showing up and quietly watching would get the point across.
But with the jbt rhetoric coming from the powers what be there, that might set them off in full fascist gestapo mode.

I understand that you think it preposterous for law enforcement officers to have a duty to obey the Constitution. You are perhaps among those who think that the words, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" are so complicated that common persons cannot be trusted to interpret them.
Our nation was founded shortly after the government sent troops to confiscate arms from the people. Those troops were shot at and some killed. If it was the right thing to do in Massachusetts in 1775 then it will probably be the right thing to do in Connecticut in 2014.
How do you see this thing playing out in Connecticut?
A picket patrol might be interesting, but there’s also a fine line between making a point and being a gratuitous nuisance.
The gun-scared pussycats in Hartford need to lion up. Spelling intended. Those guns weren’t helping crime at ALL until they lost their heads in Hartford.

In Communist China, it was legal to beat, torture, and imprison those who objected to communism. In North Korea, it was legal to torture in hideous ways, anyone who said ANYthing untoward about Kim Il Jun. In Soviet Russia, making any profit whatsoever was illegal, and it was legal to imprison 'profiteers' in the Gulag for decades.
So yes, your CT cop has done NOTHING illegal.

Thinking it over, the guys in Hartford might snap over any display of protest that frightens them.
Not a reason to not protest.
But certainly reason for caution.
These guys, again judging by their rhetoric, are itching to “knock the peasantry into line”.
They are looking for excuses.
Keep it in prayer, all that can help us now.
It’s part of an insidious spirit of fear that Americans have been accepting. It comes from Old Scratch, the devil, not from God.
Evangelism is going to be the long term answer, if there is one. The power of God is what gives people the power to say no to the hobgoblins.
I’m not cheering for any spoiled-for fight. The battle lines should be drawn between men and Satan rather than between man and man. But that is not easy and it can call for great sacrifices.
Actually, the cop made what under the law is considered a threat which may be covered by “menacing” or “terroristic threat” laws.
Not that such laws are ever enforced equally.
They aren’t.
I have yet to personally see a leo suffer reprimand for threatening anyone.
And I’d certainly protest that they’re trying to put all Connecticut into a rubber room.
I’m not cheering for a fight either.
If one comes, it will be the ugliest thing ever.
I sincerely hope I never get to see it.
But if I do, I hope I’m cut from the same cloth as my forebears.

The answer if any will not come from politicians. It will come from evangelists.
And I believe the new American evangelism won’t look a lot like the old. The old assumed people were churched enough to know the lingo. Now it will be like introducing completely strange and new concepts.
A “welcome to planet earth” situation, pretty much.
Linguistic challenge at the bare minimum.
Complete cultural disconnect for some.

Wonder how many of the kids out there busy “fronting for their friends” will make the right calls when it boils down to it?

Well I guess I am trying in a small way to get around the “churchy hymn” issue as a hopeful songwriter.
Thank the good Lord for English. It has myriad ways of saying the same thing. Theological purists may keep on using the church language, but Christ has to go out on the streets speaking the way common people speak. People already know the concepts but don’t use the churchy words for them.
Here’s one example, might or might not be helpful.

I agree with you that the tete a tete between the cop and Cinque so far does not justify any harm happening to ANYBODY.
That said, I think you are missing a point too. Read post 39 on this thread.
