Well, at least Obama sent a message of reassurance to Kenya. They won’t have to worry about being absorbed into Russia.

Bulgaria? Someone is smoking some weed. Russia has never had any claims on Bulgaria, unlike the Turks. Most Bulgarians like Russia. This is BS.

Well, well ... I did not realize they were NATO member countries.

ahh, no problem, Bulgaria and Lithuania are full members of NATO. An attack on them is to considered an attack on US soil.

And Ukraine almost joined in the last few years. And we were considering Georgia also.

Anyone remember WWI?

If I was Angela Merkel, I’d be running three shifts at the panzer factory. They’re already handing out the white flags in France.

If Russia starts annexing old territories they captured during WW2, WW3 would not be far off.

???
Bulgaria is a long way away from any Russian border, with two countries, and the Black Sea separating them.

Russia will have a hard nut top crack with Lithuania. Lithuanians fought a guerrilla war against the Soviet Union up to 1973.

For me this sums it up.

Putin plays chess, Obama has checkers on the chess board and thinks he's playing bingo - the whole time with his narcissistic sense of smug superiority.

How will we survive this utter fool?

I’ll laugh if the newly added EU countries empty themselves out into Old Europe trying to get away from the Russians.

The Swiss were smart to vote “no” on open borders.

Well, Obama has already taken the military off the table specially in the Ukraine, and by implication, the region. (Here)

They are in NATO aren’t they? If attacked, we are shooting back.

Putin is no fool. He will finish assimilating all of the non NATO countries, and antagonize Israel at the same time. He will do as much as he can where we will not fight him.

Then he sets up relations with central And South America.

I’ll believe they’re worried when they increase their defense spending, which really needs to be 6% or more of GDP instead of the 1% or 2% they’re currently spending, since they’re front-line states.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Putin starts casting an eye to Finland. The Russians haven’t forgotten their wars with the Finns. The Russians subdued them by sheer weight in 1939/40 but the Finns put up a hell of a good fight. And that Finland had been sympathetic to the Nazis and sent troops to Russia isn’t someday the Russkies have forgotten.

I have a feeling that in the next few months, a place called Kaliningrad will be in the news. Kaliningrad Oblast (zone) is the only place where Russia borders Poland and Lithuania.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden sought to reassure the three ex-Soviet Baltic republics of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia that America will defend any NATO member against aggression.

They are doomed.

Neither Bulgaria or Lithuania are a match for Russia militarily. By the same token, Putin isn’t going to be able to walk in and take what he wants without a shot. Is he ready for that?
