Stephen Colbert outraged online followers Thursday with an offensive-sounding and out-of-context tweet made on his Colbert Report account.

"I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever."
Howls of outrage were heard from the Hong Kong Long Ding Dong Tong. Michelle Obama and the Ding Dong she is married to were likewise outraged.
I find it kind of pathetic this justifies his comments in his mind. The real 'context' is not that he is portraying ignorant idiot on TV - he is one.
Unfunny, as he always is. How that crap continues to air on Comedy Central, I don’t know. I’d rather see the umpteenth rerun of “My Secret Girlfriend” instead.
He and/or his writers didn’t really think this through. I too believe that the Redskins owner didn’t have to do anything for anyone because of the false leftist “controversy” about the team’s name. Colbert could have just said as much and left Asians out of it. It takes a village of idiots to write simple minded jokes for the idiot who is their joke teller.
I agree. The connection with the Redskins was stupid and needless. I also believe the owners of the Redskins doesn’t have to get permission from anyone to name his team. If some people don’t like it then they can buy the damn team and rename it, otherwise they can shut up.
He, his writers, Jon Stuart and his writers are lazy ideologues going for the laughs of idiots. They don’t really account to much for other than that.
Colbert and 17 writers to write his show. I have never watched. I guess some viewers think the character “Stephen Colbert” is a real person.
His hipster audience will protect him.
Leftists are allowed to be racist.
This group should produce daily internet threads on all the sites calling out all the outrageous and insensitive things that Colbert says.
Then we can all comment on it, like with all the other threads.

I’m sure Colbert is not a conscious racist, but you have to be careful when you deal with this subject matter. It’s a new trend now to attack the “easily offended,” or the “tolerati” as Gutfeld calls them in his previous book (which had a bad title: The Joy of Hate). He does it without unconsciously offending people, but it’s easy to slip.
That seems like it *might* have been a ha-ha line if spoken; but to read it it is not funny and I suppose I can see why people find it offensive. But I don’t know what his tweets are usually like, maybe they are often like this one.
I don’t know. I’m thinking this is good. He is challenging the over-the-top politically correct culture of the entire political spectrum. Some other celeb did this recently, I can’t recall who.
If it doesnt specifically have to do with blacks its a non story, besides he’s a rat and rats are given a pass even with balck racist jokes, hell, the senate democratic leader BYRD was once the head of the KKK
His hideous and mentally defective sister actually ran for national office in Charleston!!
They are beginning to eat their own...
A manufactured crisis perhaps?
Wait a minute - I thought, according to leftist “rules”, that it was OK to be “racist” against Asians...
I guess it must just be OK as long as the targets are not democrats.
That’s because Michelle Malkin is Asian. She even ate a dog once.
No wait, that was President Obama who ate the dog. NM
