As Goes North Carolina, So go Republican hopes to take over the Senate
The Weekly Standard ^ | April 18, 2014 | Fred Barnes

To win the Senate, Republicans must win North Carolina. While it’s mathematically possible to take the Senate without ousting Democratic senator Kay Hagan, the chances of that happening are close to zero. For Republicans, North Carolina is necessary. It’s the key to control of the Senate.

Obama Hagan

It’s number six on my list. That is, there are five states where capturing Democratic seats appears more likely—West Virginia, South Dakota, Montana, Louisiana, Arkansas. Then comes North Carolina. Assuming Republicans don’t lose any of their own seats, those six pickups would give Republicans a 51-49 majority. And with it, the political equation in Washington would change. Republicans would be on offense, President Obama and Harry Reid on defense.

But winning in North Carolina is no cinch for Republicans. Two facts stand out. One, Hagan is extremely vulnerable. She’s a Reid follower who voted for Obamacare and most of the president’s agenda.

Well, Landrieu is a name the voters recognize, and that is really the only thing that actually matters.

She will be re-elected.

Whoops, a part of the article twice by mistake. Very embarrassing.

Not a problem. Most don't even read the article anyway and so would never notice :-)

Obama won NC by a slim margin in 2008, so just keep the dead from voting and the Republicans should win!

Kay Hagan....former Senator from NC!

“Ayotte, Flake, Collins”

My bad! Of course these three. I am surprised Flake can breathe, his nose is so far up McLame’s you know what (but then again he’s competing for “space” with Linda). Can you imagine though, Flake and Reid are both Mormons? Ayotte and Collins are giving GOP women a bad name, and they will be problematic in a GOP-lead Senate.

Collins, Ayotte and our other Senator from Texas - Cornyn!

If the voters can get rid of Linda, will be interesting to see if Ayotte gets the message, since she always seemed to follow Linda and McCain’s lead.

All empty rental units in NC are going to be leased month to month by transplants be flown, bussed or otherwise transported in from northern cities, courtesy DNC. I hope some Republican realtors will be able to catch it as it happens, it almost worked in 2012.

Where’d that picture come from?! It is truly gruesome! Best pic of a Dem that I’ve ever seen. And it’s not even Photoshopped.

The Weekly Standard is promoting RINO challengers to Arizona’s AG and Walter Jones.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/resistance_782747.html

“And here’s a quote from Mark Brnovich’s campaign video in Arizona: “Arizonans deserve an attorney general who understands the federal and the state constitution, that makes sure that all of our rights and liberties are protected, and whether that’s protecting us from federal encroachment, such as Obamacare, and making sure that the rule of law is upheld.””

Arizona already has an AG who does that.

Landrieu voted against Bush’s amnesty in 2007. That is one advantage she doesn’t have now. They are talking about running a bunch of black candidates in conservative districts so they can get turnout.

http://www.redstate.com/diary/joesquire/2014/03/27/landrieus-strategy-someone-bail/

Fleming holds LA-4, and has been for a while now. He’s a solid conservative that I don’t actually see losing, but there is heavy speculation that Shreveport mayor Cedric Glover, who is term-limited, will run against him. Glover is black, and the hope from the Landrieu camp is that his campaign would bring out a higher black vote that would benefit Landrieu.

Yeah, she’s about as independent a thinker as Joe Biden! She is more about being “liked” than doing anything substantive if it means putting herself out there. very weak person.

At 51-49, the Dems would flip a GOP Senator with threats of... whatever. Then it’s 50-50, and the majority is gone once again. Then the GOP caves on rules changes to accomodate a majority-less Senate... SSDD

Assuming Republicans don’t lose any of their own seats

There's a good chance they'll lose one if not two; Michelle Nunn will clobber Paul Broun in Georgia and Alison Lundergan Grimes stands a chance at ousting Mitch McConnell in Kentucky.

There was a variety of types and to make a point the Freepr posted about six pics of various tanks?? and labeled the town where they went. That particular tank looked old and boxed.

Ansell2 swears what I said was BS, but I saw it on a threat here around a week ago, or at least a few days back.
