The FAA now requires air traffic control applicants to take an online, biographical questionnaire as part of the testing process. Comprised of 63 questions, such as "What has been the major cause of your failures?" and "(how many) high school sports (did you participate) in"?

Are these jokers in charge when Air Force One lands? Doubt it.

From the article:
CTI = College Training Initiative.
Thirty-six colleges around the nation (including ASU) offer degrees in air traffic management. The FAA has changed it hiring policy from hiring from a pool of military vets and graduates from universities with air traffic management programs.

The new policy is to hire “off the street”, with part of the screening process an online “biographic exam”. The FAA will then train the air traffic control applicants.

This is really sad because these candidates put a lot of money and effort into the program and are then disqualified because of a BS demographics policy.

Federal hiring is pretty f'd up to begin with. I've never seen an organization that puts most of the emphasis on an application they make little effort to vet and make the interview a check in the block. The net result is that you end up with some good workers, some okay workers and then "OMG, where did they get this guy" workers. I work for an agency that hired a guy that had been fired in the Navy for the primary skill he was hired for in federal service. Needless to say, he has been a real problem. They hired another guy that failed his interview process. He never got to the third part of the interview because he was so bad. He was eventually terminated.

But then in January the FAA did a startling about face suddenly announcing it would begin hiring air traffic controllers "off the street" with no experience necessary.

POSTULATE: "Eric Holder told us we have to hire his people."

COROLLARY: "The purpose of affirmative action is to place people with IQs of 85 into positions for which they are completely unqualified."

The FAA is now run by non-aviators who hate aviators: Liberals.
