Dust-up on today's Morning Joe over Benghazi and the House Special Committee empanelled to investigate it. In the move-on-nothing-to-see corner were Chuck Todd and Donny Deutsch. Opposing them was Nicolle Wallace, who made an impassioned case that the Obama admin's cover-up of the politics behind the false talking points that the White House furnished to Susan Rice, blaming the attack on an internet video, merit anger and investigation.
As MRC's Jeffrey Meyer has noted, Todd has been on a tear trying to downplay Benghazi and disparage the Special Committee. But in his determination to defend all things Obama, Todd today ran badly afoul of the facts. He claimed that the false talking points weren't worth caring about since the Obama admin stopped citing the internet video within "two days." Could Todd truly have forgotten that two weeks later, in a formal address at the United Nations, President Obama was still talking about that infernal video?

I'm guessing it was no where close to going viral and hadn't been forwarded much either.
Even if the damn video had gone viral to an unprecedented extreme, had been viewed by every single YouTube user multiple times and was the most extreme, hateful video ever produced it was still a video. As long as it wasn’t revealing state secrets or presenting child pornography it should have been protected speech.
No video, no statement, no insulting cartoon, no form of speech can ever justify violence. If America doesn’t make this absolutely clear to its Islamic population we will end up like France and the UK in short order.
I am appalled at how few Americans understand the concept that to limit free speech to any extent is to abandon it.

The Democrats know that Obama surrendered to Al Qaeda at Benghazi. Then, to top that, the Democrats know that he provided weapons, armored vehicles, funds and night vision equipment to Al Qaeda as part of the surrender agreement. Not only did our chicken President surrender to Al Qaeda and hide it to cover his re-election, he committed treason.
Does anyone think the Democrats are willing to fight to the death over Benghazi because they want to protect Obama’s reputation? He can’t run for President again. They don’t need to fight to the death for that.
