It was not Lamar’s fault, but it’s not like Lamar Alexander doesn’t have contraversy.

Lamar is as bad as Lindsey Graham.

Lamar is best friends with Chuck Schumer. He is just not as outspoken as Lindsey.

Really? That is a very sick person, with severe psychological problems.

The Tea Party candidates seem to be weak and underfunded. Everything they do is guaranteed to be mocked or ignored by the media. It would be great if some of the conservative talk show hosts championed Carr. Levin dislikes Alexander and Corker, but he doesn’t talk about Carr, a solid conservative Alexander challenger.

I don’t know why any of the well known conservative TN politicians didn’t challenge Alexander for the good of the country. Did he “pay” them all off early in some way? Marsha Blackburn is on Alexander’s reelection committee and that seems fishy. What a disgrace and disappointment she turned out to be. What happened to Ed Bryant? He seemed like a “solid” conservative, ran for Senate, lost and then disappeared.

I guess I’m a “purist” because I am tired of voting for these self serving political hacks.

I reside in Tennessee—which is a reliably Republican state—and I can attest that Sen. Alexander will easily win re-nomination, and then will easily win the general election.

No need to worry about the democrats in this case because

A)Carr is not an an O’Donnell type or a moron like Akin/Mourdock

B)The TN rat party is close to dead, there is no bench of rat candidates in the state, they don’t have a real candidate for the seat. Donnelly was as strong a rat candidate for Indiana as was available, McCaskil was an incumbent in MO, and Delaware is a liberal state where a conservative must run a perfect race to win.

Yes yes yes.

I’m not optimistic in SC though, not only does Cash have to contend with the unelectable (over Graham in the runoff) Lee Bright, but Nancy Mace and Bill O’Connor too.

Cash is living up to his name however, he has more of it than Bright, Mace, or any candidate other than Graham. I hope he’s turning that money into what he needs, name recognition.

Thanks for the update from TN situation. I am always for a good hard fought contest in primaries. If Carr is a good politician and more conservative than the incumbent, more power to him. But if Carr loses in primary, and if I was voting in TN, I would always pull the lever against the rat candidate.

Lugar would have won in Indiana against any rat is how I understand it from memory.

Delaware republican congressman running for senate was the least conservative of all senate candidates but he was popular in blue MD and was supposed to win in general.

Missouri was more of a toss up as you said. But Akin blew it big time.

TN doesn’t require a majority for a nomination, and people there are too stubborn to consider removing Lamar! from public life.

Lugar would have won yeah, Mourdock was a 2 time statewide winner though, there was a little reason to think he would blow the general election.

I literally can’t believe he was so stupid as to make comments similar to Todd Akin AFTER Akin made them and destroyed his campaign. It boggles the mind. That’s like being out in the woods with your friend, seeing him eat some poisoned berries that kill him, and then eating the same berries!

I admit I was an early backer of O’Donnell (before most of FR had heard of her), with Castle being so liberal as to barely register as a Republican, and the rat candidate being of the second-tier variety, I thought she could win in a Republican year. Attractive woman, potential star I thought. Of course I didn’t know about her bizarre past.

As for Akin, Clintonfatigued was one freeper who warned that he was a rube only used to running in safe Republican areas. Still he was far ahead in the polls until he stuck his foot in his mouth. 1 good media consultant could have stopped him from making that mistake. It’s sickening to think of Senate races turning on 1 statement. Think back to George Allen and “Macacca”.

No need to feel stupid about backing O’Donnell. I fell in the same trap as you did. Even sent her campaign cash based on initial impressions. That “I am not a witch” commercial was clear signal she was going to lose.

What's even more tragic is that if he had just not said that, Obamacare would not have had the votes to pass 4 years later...

I was getting ready to ask if the Dems had anything other than token opposition running in that race.

Looks like Carr has at least a fair chance of winning this primary, though Alexander is quite a prominent figure in that state and it will be a very tall order.

I’d rather get rid of Lindsey Graham in SC more than Alexander if we can only get rid of one or the other. Graham holds the caucus hostage with his turncoat behavior and grandstanding to get media attention and empowers McCain.

It sure does. As Churchill once said, the greatest argument against democracy is a conversation with the average voters - or something like that.

NEVER FORGET lamar voted to SCREW the Military!

RINO DELUXE, he also draws several state pensions. As a university dean and a ex governor to name 2. His votes to increase the debt should be enough to do him in.

But his war chest which he brought from Governor to the 2 PROMISED 2 terms and out US Senate is huge plus the National GOP will make sure he has more funds to keep this 73 yr old RINO Who loves crossing the isle to vote with the DemoRATS.

Carr is more conservative in his voting record as a TN State Rep. He has our 2 votes. Hubby will vote for him in general election, I'll write in State Rep Joe Carr. The dem challenger is a no body. Because I don't even know who it is.

Remember NO DONATIONS TO NATIONAL GOP ORGS. STRAVE THEM, give to the candidate directly. Carr is doing a really nice gun give away...not a cheesy gun either. Beretta, looks like a AK 47.

TN is total R since reconstruction. Ramsey should have been governor, but when 2 conservatives run against a moderate, neither will back down, not even the low polling guy, who should so a Conservative could win the office. So the moderate always wins. It is how we got gov. Halsam, and corker.

lamar was a choice of a moderate RINO vs a socialist deluxe political demoRAT FORD machine pol. Harold Ford Jr, who then ran for the TN US 9th, and became a US Rep. Until he wanted the governorship. Which ushered in halsam, who is on the ballot this Nov. Vote Ramsey as I look for him to try again. He is LT Gov now. Senate leader too.

Here is 1 place your PHONE call may help. halsam will NOT sign the death warrant of a killer/rapist of a 8 year old child. Please make the phone call. What if it were your daughter or grand daughter or niece?

Ashley ‘Nikki’ Read, get the justice that 2 juries have handed down. ALL APPEALS have run out.

TN Gov email is bill.haslam@tn.gov
615 741-2001

David Keen
http://murderpedia.org/male.K/k/keen-david.htm

This CHILD RAPIST HAS RUN OUT OF ALL 20 YRS OF APPEALS, TN GOV Halsam still has NOT SET AN EXECUTION DATE OR SIGNED A DEATH WARRANT, EMAIL HIM TO DO SO bill.haslam@tn.gov 615 741-2001 Phone calls are more effective.

This is 20 years of appeals. 24 YRS SINCE THE CRIME. TOOK ONLY THE DNA TO PROVE WHO DID IT, #1 SUSPECT. DNA & confession proved he raped, strangled to death with her OWN SHOE LACES 8 year old Ashley ‘Nicki’ Read and then threw her body in the river. Even helped hunt for what was thought to be a missing child.

Ramsey favors putting this animal down.

The GOPe is now going to get going the meme that “we need people who can win” sticking with these traditional names. I really see no attraction to a LA. None. He’s truly a zero.
