Oh, ok. We'll make a new rule: No posting about the deaths of people Rennes Templar doesn't know. If Rennes Templar doesn't know the person, then the news isn't of interest.
P.S. Could you please provide us with a list of all the people you know and whose deaths are worthy of mentioning so that we won't get this wrong again. It's never a good day when we upset you. Help us help you. May I get you a cup of coffee or some iced tea? Would that make you feel better?
RIP honey....I grew up on it
You’re right
PBS came when each state got their public network and the ability to tower it around the state
In Jackson Miss we had only NBC and CBS till 1970 and then ABC....came on WAPT
PBS too around same time...they built studio and broadcast center on old state pen property in north Jackson
Masterpiece theatre and Big Bird.....
Captain Poldark!
I dunno, I fantasied about being Marcia’s half-brother only through marriage. Yea, Mike Brady being a homo was a shock.
Just finished an absolutely riveting book called, The Aviators. I asked my entire staff, ranging in ages from 21 to 46 years old if they knew the three characters in the book, who without question changed the life of human beings all over the world for generations to come. Three men, who names were household words 25 years ago for sure among adults.
NONE...ZERO...NADA A couple of the staff heard of the names but not one person knew what they accomplished.
The men are:
1. Eddie Rickenbacker
2. Jimmy Doolittle
3. Charles Lindbergh
I ask air line people when I fly if they can name the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic. None... Not one ever knows.
I’m living in the South, and can you believe that a fair number of the people I work with don’t know who Robert E. Lee was? They may be accustomed to the name, but they don’t know that he was the South’s general. Some think Grant was with the confederates.
Nathan Bedford Forrest? Stonewall Jackson? Jeb Stuart? FORGET IT!!!!!!!!
And yes, the majority voted for Obama both times.
Maureen McCormick was very attractive when young even as a young adult, but looking back Robert Reed was a bit fruity, you see him teaching his Brady make believe kids to shoot a gun?
My apologies to the FR Tabloid/TV crowd.
Genuflecting in your general direction for your immeasurable superiority, we accept your haughty apology.
According to the article on the Blaze I read over the weekend, she was an outspoken Christian, who claimed her Salvation through Jesus Christ. Bless her.
When I was a kid I was about her age (at that time) and my fantasies about her were in a different direction than that.
And may the soul of Alice bless you the rest of your days...
