The furious parents of an officer who they claim was killed while searching for freed Taliban prisoner Bowe Bergdahl today said that they have been lied to as part of a ‘cover up just like Benghazi’.
The mother and father of Second Lieutenant Darryn Andrews are angry that they have been told different stories about how their son died.
First his commanders said that their son was blown up while hunting a Taliban commander - but only now that Bergdahl has been freed after five years in captivity are they learning the truth.
Lt Andrews’ parents told MailOnline that their own son branded Bergdahl a ‘deserter’ before he was killed.
In an exclusive interview his father Andy Andrews told MailOnline: ‘For his family it’s good to get him back but we will never be able to get our son back because of the actions of this guy (Bergdahl).
‘I think people need to be aware that the guy was not a hero and American lives have been lost trying to save this deserter’.

I just read on another thread that CBS had said that Bergdahl (at the airbase in Germany) is refusing to speak English and that he had converted to Islam. This came out on CBS, yet!

Yes, I heard this on WABC. They actually said he’s “refusing” to speak English - not that he lost the ability to speak English as his daddy said.
I think Daddy was advising his kid to pretend to lose the ability to speak English.

The "exigent circumstances" excuse isn't holding up. The terms for this exchange were floated long ago, but suddenly the administration chose to accept them.

I’m also happy because this is blowback to the Bergdahl family who I think are an anti-American freak family.
Hope this does become a PR disaster and takes on a life of it’s own. Whole thing is sickening.
SO, how do we respond to folks who are baffled by the story. Should we remind them our POTUS’s middle name is Hussein; that he was raised as a Muslim in Indonesia?; that he spoke on ABC’s news with George Stephanopolis and said, “My Muslim faith”, which George hastily remind BO that he meant to say, “My Christian faith.”

Obama is in an ivory tower surrounded by yes men and it never occurred to them this stunt would implode with criticism.
It does seem like a PR disaster to me. Why else would they push Jay Carney out there after he resigned? Whether it has legs is another thing.
They don’t think. They are afraid to be individuals with a principal based on knowledge, in this case of history, our founding documents, religious founding principals, and logic.
They are frightened to death of logic. It is a threat to their way of life, their relationships their identity.
It is truth.
They are relativists who seek to be cool, in whatever community they are in, they desire human respect.
Any criticism of this guy is seen as uncool.
In the case you present, they will be screamed at and shunned for being ‘paranoid’.

This is disgusting at so many levels
1. That Obama would allow anyone in his cabinet to suggest that Bergdahl is a hero when they know his entire unit considers him a deserter.
2. That he apparently is going to get away with it.
3. That we gave up 5 of the high command of the Taliban to get back a guy who was a private at the time he deserted, and only has been promoted due to a concession automatically made to POWs.
4. That they lied to the parents of Lt Andrews about the nature of his death. There is absolutely no reason they could not have been told he was killed searching for an alleged deserter....they could even have said “missing” American if they didn’t want to be judgmental. They didn’t have to come up with that leading Taliban Commander crap.
5. That that poor family might now wonder about that Silver Star....because the write-up probably mentioned the Taliban Commander story.
6. About all those other troops killed. 6 we’re sure of, and the diversion of assets could actually mean more.

Yeah, your native tongue comes a little slower to you and certain things come as a cultural shock. For me, it was the country's love affair with the Clinton's, everything being "Made in China" and "Press 1 for English."
But there is no total loss of ability after a mere five years. Not even close.

I think this case gives the LIE to that concept. in that theyve piled it on WAY to thick and wide...and its going to burn them down.
It is very disturbing. I can only think Obama wanted this deal because it gave him an excuse to empty the worst of the trash at Gitmo Bay. He wants it closed for his legacy. I doubt he expected a backlash so quickly. Bergdahl’s desertion was not meant to be known (the non-disclosure agreement).
Is there anyone left in the military with both the authority to order the court martial and the willingness to put their own military career on the chopping block by making it happen?
Or have they all resigned or been fired already?
