Breaking news update! Iraqis shut down internet at U.S. Embassy in Baghdad
The Examiner ^ | June 14, 2014 | Susy Raybon

Posted on 06/15/2014 3:51:52 PM PDT by Star Traveler

A three word text was released from inside the Embassy about six hours ago: “Too late Alamo.” That message is open to interpretation.

Just minutes ago news came from within the United States Embassy in Baghdad that the Iraqis have shut down internet service for those barricaded inside. Limited text messages via private cell phones are still coming through.

It is unknown how many of the more than 5,000 U.S. civilians in Baghdad are actually taking refuge inside the embassy compound. NBC war correspondent, Richard Engel reported last night that civilians in and around Baghdad have boarded up residences and businesses.

The embassy lockup is a reminder of when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in August of 1990 and U.S. civilians were held hostage for months, including those from the State Department and Department of Transportation.

This week ISIS terrorists operating in Iraq have toppled Fallujah, Ramadi, Tikrit, and Mosul, robbing the Bank of Mosul for more than $450 million dollars. ISIS leaders now claim they are the richest terror group in the world, topping al Qaeda and Hamas. This militant group has vowed to overrun Baghdad, the nation's capital, and eliminate the Shiite ruling party.

I don’t think he is a mastermind of any kind but he is not “just an awful president.” He is the tool of the masterminds. He is just a front man. If he were just an awful president he would do something RIGHT some time just by accident. Making presidential decisions is basically like taking a multiple choice test, you have options to consider and you pick one. If you see someone take a lengthy multiple choice test and they make a zero it did not happen by accident, you need the same knowledge and or crib sheets to make a zero that you would need to make a perfect score. If you have constant contact with someone who knows all the answers they can tell you how to make zero or one hundred or anything in between. Try taking a multiple choice test on a subject about which you know nothing. You will NOT be able to make a zero score, Obama makes a perfect zero every day, he NEVER does the right thing.

A shutoff of Iraq oil will have major effects. Producing more than 3 million barrels a day, it’s the second biggest OPEC producer after Saudi Arabia. From what has just happened, Thursday, Brent crude futures LCOc1 rose 3 percent to $113.27 a barrel (up from $110 a barrel) while U.S. crude CLc1 added 2.2 percent to $106.71, the highest reading for both since September. The great concern that this civil war will shut off Iraq oil is having its effects on stock markets around the world. With American stocks falling, it will hit the middle class the hardest with jobs and inflation.

Predictions I have read say that oil could go to more than $116 a barrel. With the summer driving season ahead, gas prices are expected to go up another 5 to 10 cents per gallon. The price of gas typically rises about 2 to 2.5 cents per gallon for every dollar that crude oil rises. Add another 10 to 25 cents to the expected summer driving season increase.

If you pay the current national average gas price of $3.64/gallon, you may be paying up to $3.90 to $4/gallon at the summer peak driving season.

If your state is a high gasoline tax state like mine (37.5 cents/gallon) you may be paying even more. Right now because of our high gas taxes we are paying an average of $3.90/gallon. I expect to be paying $4.16/gallon.

...except that a perfect zero is entirely possible in a multiple choice test. I stand by my assertion that he isn’t a puppet. He’s not a tool, except in the use of “tool” that translates as “idiot”.

VALERIE JARRETT, CHICAGO, AND THE IRAN DEAL

26 Nov 2013

Last week, the Times of Israel reported that senior presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett had been leading talks with Iran in secret for a year before the formal negotiations in Geneva this month. While the White House denied the report “100 percent,” the existence of back-channel talks has been confirmed by other reporting. The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that President Barack Obama had “personally overseen” the talks.

Well there’s two alternatives for the US if they are determined to be involved in the Middle East, they can work with the Shiite Iranians or their arch-rivals the Sunni Saudis.

The Iranians haven’t actually attacked the US in about thirty years, Iran, despite being an Islamic Republic tolerates other religions, there are many Christians and indeed Jews living peacefully in Iran. Last year the Iranians elected a president with the specific mandate of ending Iran’s isolation and reaching out to the US. The Iranians are supporting the democratically elected government of Iraq, the democratic government that the US spent billions and thousands of lives getting installed. Iranians are much more open to the west and used to be America’s best friend in the region.

Or the US could continue to what it has being doing for decades; using its military as the House of Saud’s foreign legion, protecting the oil fields the feeble Saudi military could not defend, while the Saudis, who loathe America and the west, fund the Sunni and Wahabi extremists who are currently fighting in Syria and Iraq.

Oh and the men who attacked America on 9/11 were not Iranians but almost to a man Sunni Saudis led by a Sunni Saudi.

Yeah, I can see why the US wouldn’t want to side with Iran in this fight, er, maybe.
