But don’t dare think of partitioning the United States of Taxpayers and Takers...

We have removed ourselves as players.

Hopefully they'll partition the place along clear lines, so the next president can blow up the appropriate pie slices and leave the Kurds alone.

Baghdad has fallen numerous times over the course of history. Who will keep it this time and whether it will be worth keeping after the battle is another story.

“just think of me as a non-expert guy talking aloud at a bar about the subject” - well for this administration you would be considered an expert.

1. It was a big mistake to leave Iraq prematurely. Yes, Iraq wanted us out of Iraq (and now they want our help?) but we won the war and it was our decision. Bad decision by Obama.

2. If I accept the fact that we are out, then stay out. It is no longer the role of the United States to act as the world’s police force. I think putting boots back on the ground in Iraq would have made Obama’s bad decision in #1 even worse.

3. A UN brokered partition of Iraq? It would never work. Someone is going to have oil that the other group wants. Two of the three groups will form an alliance against the third. Then outside countries would form alliances and get into the act. This would practically guarantee a major mideast war. Oil prices will go up.

I don’t have an answer, but a formal partition is a mistake. The role of the United Nations should be to take care of refugees, nothing more. I’m afraid this one is going to have to burn itself out by attrition.

30,000 Iraqi soldier ran from 800 ISIS rebels. Gave them their weapons and stuff for safe passage home. 4,400 US troops dead. 32,000 wounded. Trillions wasted on the efforts there. And Barry has done a great job as president. Just as Vietnam, Dimocrats and a Dim president have destroyed military accomplishments. 58,000 dead in Nam and something like over 300,000 wounded I think in Nam. Just as Nam, Iraq has been a waste of human lives and money.

just think of me as a non-expert guy talking aloud at a bar about the subject, and who wants to hear what you think

Get out! Just GET OUT!

We have no business there, we have never had any business there, and our government has never had the slightest Constitutional authority to 'maintain stability in the Middle East', so

JUST GET OUT and let them just keep doing what they've been doing for thousands of years...slaughtering each other!
