Inside the Thad Cochran comeback
Politico ^ | June 25, 2014 | Alexander Burns

Thad Cochran’s political resurrection began with a campaign shakeup and ended with a Hail Mary television ad. Just three weeks ago, in the dead of night on June 3, the Mississippi senator’s staff sat shaken and dejected, crestfallen at the results of a primary that deprived the six-term incumbent of an electoral majority. With Cochran forced into a runoff fight against an aggressive and energetic challenger, a dark mood shadowed his backers in Washington and Mississippi.

I used to be a huge fan of Medved. I liked him better than Limbaugh. He makes me sick now. So many of these people have exposed themselves as wholly disingenuous.

It wasn’t a comeback, and every conservative in Mississippi should vote for the Democrat this fall. Spit.

“The GOPe proved once and for all that they are Democrats who just want to be part of the club.”

Truer words have never been spoken.

If we do manage to wrest control from the GOPe, the first order of business (after rescinding all harmful executive orders) must be to institute TERM LIMITS. No more career politicians; they are the real problem.

Just goes to show you that the GOP-e/RINO bunch in Washington will stoop to dirty Democrat/liberal tactics to stay in power. That is truly evil.

Bill Bennett another Washington insider RINO was talking to his chummy GOP-e RINO friend William Kristol the head of the Weekly Standard or National Review today. They both were trying to stem off the pissed off callers by saying no it’s not time to give up on the Republican party since we have to pick the “lesser of 2 evils”. I can’t believe they are STILL saying this as that failed strategy is what cost us since 2008. Deep down they were probably proud Cochran won and may have actually supported him.

I like Ingraham too.

Truth be told, since my move from Seattle to KY three years ago I don’t listen to ANY of them much. No time and lousy reception. It’s why I had to fall back on NPR until they stopped being funny.

By the GOPe actions we can be assured we will not take back the senate in 14. By acting like children in a school yard fight they have sewn the seeds for the old farts defeat. The establishment R’s thought they were enlisting allies from the democrat party in order to defeat the up and coming Tea Party candidate but it is the democrats that have made fools of the Re’s.

All those democrats votes will disappear in November and signififcant Tea Party votes will stay home. All giving the senate once again to the democrats.

I agree.

It looks like the GOP would rather partner with the Democrats than with conservatives.

I say let them live with their decision. I'd rather build a new, strong, conservative party than try to cooperate with a party that doesn't want you around.

A Hail Mary ad didn’t save him. The Cochran campaign says 35K democrats voted for him and from what I’ve seen this is probably correct. The turn out was higher and higher where I vote but Senator McDaniel’s percentage of the vote held. The ads did not change the % of Republican voters, the difference was the democrats invited in by the Cochran campaign, the barbours and the rino elitest bastards that believe they own the Republican Party. I propose a write campaign for the general election. The official democrat would probably win buy “what difference does it make?”

So Politico keeps trying to say all’s fair but I don’t buy it. It wasn’t’ a Cochran comeback, it was a Cochran sleazy attempt to steal an election.

I don’t care what the law says about crossovers (although it says that 1) can’t vote in runoff if voted June 4th for Dem and that crossovers must intend to vote for that candidate in Nov.) but the law was never intended to deny a party their choice of a candidate.

That is what happened here. Republicans chose McDaniel as their candidate and Cochran overruled them with Democrats.
