With Friends Like These, Who Needs Liberals? (Palin Tells it like it is!)

As we pointed out last week, there were several potentially illegal political games afoot in Mississippi to motivate Democrat voters to "switch" over to the GOP for a day to help save a 42 year Republican member of Congress. On top of that, millions of dollars from out of state liberal billionaires like Mike Bloomberg poured in at the last minute on that same incumbent’s behalf. You have to ask yourself why? When a primary election is lost fairly, I am all for unifying behind the victor and joining forces to fight in November. When an election is questionable, with potential legal violations, politics MUST be put aside and the irregularities MUST be fully investigated. Regardless of party, we owe it to voters and to democracy within our Republic.

The integrity of the vote speaks directly to the integrity of those who serve and the trust we ask the American public to put in our institutions. I told Chris McDaniel last night that I stand with his effort to get to the bottom of this – he needs to know average, but tremendously concerned, citizens want to make sure the integrity of last night’s results in Mississippi are verified. Voting shenanigans never cease to amaze, but they had better cease altogether for the sake of ethical elections. And any GOP “architect” behind these abhorrent voting shenanigans should be ashamed of this Pyrrhic victory for the establishment. If we find out it's true that some of the characters alleged to have masterminded this Mississippi hijacking are the same ones who've tried to destroy other Republicans’ careers, they need to be taken to task and only be hired by unethical campaigns. Fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us. And if any news organization ignores a free and fair elections issue like this, then whether left-leaning or center right, their silence will speak volumes.

Please Note: write-ins have to have exact spelling McDaniel, NO “S”!

We’re thinking along the same lines. To give the devils their due, they may be correct in their assessment. Conservatives are cantankerous, impossible to please, and are are an aging demographic. And those are our good points!

If your long term objective is to achieve absolute power In a system where the underclasses are slavishly obedient to you, then some of this starts to make sense. Some of it doesn’t. But then again, major changes rarely come about in a clean and clinical fashion.

“Whatever their intentions or long-term suicidal mission, one thing remains fixed: electing leftists is a mistake. I will vote accordingly.”

Thanks for the post.

I simply won’t bother in most instances. And since I went on the wagon last year, I’ve been pretty good about avoiding elections. My rule of thumb is that unless there is a significant positive (read conservative) choice, my participation is unnecessary and counterproductive. Elections per se aren’t that harmful. Kind of like watching football. But when it becomes the primary focus of a populations political efforts, as it has become in the US, then it’s a problem. It allows the power structure to put on a good circus to distract the populace.

I don’t agree at all. I think conservatives are really rasy to please. Follow the platform to the 80th percentile and get a vote.

The actual problem is demonstratedly, conservatives are too damn concerned what their friends thing. Many may be as rabid as I get when home alone with their thoughts. But they simply want to avoid personal confrontation with their friends online and in real life. So they ‘moderate’ each and every time one disagrees.

They cannot reconcile the two. In their minds or in reality. They simply do not understand why people can’t see what they see. So they compromise to fit in.

Not many Alphas out there willing to stand their ground when things get uncomfortable much less when it counts. Personally I don’t think I’m an Alpha. I just am willing to fight for what I know to be true.

The first step conservatives have to take is to realize they are not alone. the second is to realize that conservatism isn’t black magic with some mysterious Codex that will unlock hidden truths. The truths are there in plain sight. The high priests are all of us.

And when you think about it, how ‘pure’ is 80% anyway? Thats 1 in 5 votes with a liberal. Certainly no unrealistic high bar.

This is all dog simple. So simple that the reality is elusive.

There are a mere handful, a fraction of a fraction that would not accept the traditional 80%. Forget them. Collectively we can do this by SIMPLY sticking to that one simple thing. If a conservative can hit 80, vote for him.

And any conservative that can hit 80 isn’t likely an abortion backer or going to be an amnesty fan. Forget rating systems from GOP managed groups. Go with what your eyes see.

Problem solved.

Maybe the Republican party will start to turn right again if enough conservative "Independents" displace their liberal Republican representatives by following through on upsdriver's great suggestion.

Not sure how you mean the terminology. But Constitutional conservatives and willing allies MUST displace GOPe leaders. I think it is happening in spite of what has occurred this year in SC and MS. Hang tough!

Someone suggested to me this week that the GOPe is about to go on life support sooner rather than later. I'm watching too, and reading the signs, and am not coming up with the same discouraged answers as some have displayed on this and other FR threads. We are not defeated!

I know of a Nation that was founded on this kind of thinking.

As for the 80%...that will require some more thought. To me, a Constitutional conservative is transparent and not a potential spy. We will agree on enough to stand side by side. It's the 80/10/5/5 "conservatives" such as Lindsey Graham that make me skeptical of the other 80 percenters. R2z

We are not defeated!

We are very far from victorious, and as long as we are willing, on pretense of voting "against" the "worse" Democrat, to vote for Republicans who advance leftist tyrany, victory will elude us even when we win.

FRiend Reset, we will KNOW when we see who the Republican party nominates as its 2016 presidential candidate; Like many if not most American conservatives, I will have zero voice in that decision even if I vote in the primary because by the time it gets to my state, it is already decided and my vote is merely a polite formality. That is when we will see whether it is sensible or whether it is gullible to "hang tough" with the GOP.

I hope you are right, but I will be very, very surprised if in 26 short months the GOP changes its primary protocol enough to present American voters with a true alternative to the Democrat.

Odds are that another Romney will get the nomination. And Americans will once again be asked to engage in the futility of voting "against" Democrat leftism, yet deprived of the means to vote FOR its antidote.

I think I need to clarify something about 80%

I am absolutely not saying go to the ACU look up a rating and vote. I am saying the polar OPPOSITE of that.

We are all able to see foe ourselves what the actions od a given pol are and list them accordingly. LG can ‘vote right’ all day long and pull down high numbers on paper.

The reality of that number does not account for his fighting like a demon against what he votes for until the issue is a sure loser, then voting for it and saying “SEE!!! I voted for what YOU wanted!!!”

Sure...after tanking the subject of the vote.

That is not a point in the conservative column. It is about 10 in the non. I am saying judge on actions, add up those actions and decide. And do not cook your own books to get a result that torpedos the whole point of the exercize.

Obviously, there has been a misunderstanding on my part of your meaning. I totally agree. I will vote ONLY for those candidates who I believe are Constitutional conservative TEA movement kind of people.

But we ARE making progress in spite of SC and MS Senatorial races this year. And I hope MS is not over yet! Challenge those votes NOW! SC remains to be seen this November.

The open primary rears its ugly head. It provides one more opportunity for the opposing party to game the system by moving forward the candidate least able to beat your candidate.

Totally agree and have agreed for several years. Never think you see me posting to vote for the lesser evil; you will not see that. We still stand together as one. (I'm right behind you.)

We have NOT given up in SC. Conservatives have been working on it for years. But we are only about a third of the SC registered voters. The Columbia Uni-party still has two-thirds sway. Come help us. And/or those conservatives in MS and other open-primary States.

We not only have an open primary in Washington State, but the top two vote getters in the primary move on to the general election. That means two Democrats could be on the ballot in the general election! You can't make this stuff up.

Tell you what...If we need a woman president, then that woman is Sarah Palin.

She has the most integrity, honesty and sincerity of any potential candidate out there.

I say, RUN SARAH, RUN...

The answer has to be a Federal Election Law that governs how primary elections for All Federal offices (including U.S. Senate) are set in ALL States and ALL paid for by the Feds. Other local and State elections could occur at the same time at the same polls.

For one benefit, it would forever eliminate the GOPe ramrodding the Republican Party. Bad idea?

Well, I guess I am one of those eeeeeevillll purists then. LOL! Because 80% is not good enough for me. Or rather the 20% had better not be on either infanticide or RKBA or you can forget it. If the 20% is on things such as gambling, legalized drugs, or prostitution that I do disagree with but don’t get much in a lather about, then I guess we could come to a deal. Problem is that tolerable 20% is different for different people.

Yes. Very bad idea. Why should I as a person who loathes both factions of the uniparty have to pay for elections for them to select their candidates? Let the parties pay their own bills and select their own candidates. They don’t need my tax dollars to pick their kakistocrats. I trust them to pick the lousiest one without a taxpayer funded primary.

Thats where the platform comes in. All the big issues are covered by that. So the 20 percent are all little things to argue about, not dealkillers.

Okay then. Status quo gotta stay. Forget I mentioned it. (Actually, some States already pay for primaries. Honest.)
