BREAKING: 25,000-35,000 Democratic Voters Carried Thad Cochran to Victory

Mitch McConnell, the NRSC and the Chamber of Commerce went all in for moderate Thad Cochran in Mississippi (57% conservative rating with Heritage Action):

Back in Washington, Cochran’s most important allies resolved to muffle their anxiety and stick with him for another three weeks. The Chamber of Commerce polled the race, concluded the senator had a difficult but viable path to victory; the group began brainstorming inventive ways to make a splash in the state, culminating with a sensational commercial starring NFL legend Brett Favre. National Republican Senatorial Committee political director Ward Baker, confronted with Beltway pessimism about Cochran’s chances, repeatedly told Republicans in D.C.: “We don’t leave our people on the field.”

But it took 35K Democrats to push him past grassroots challenger Chris McDaniel:

Surprisingly, more votes were cast in the runoff than in the June 3 primary. McDaniel increased his vote from 155,000 on June 3 to 184,600 last night. But the 25-35,000 Dems who crossed over to vote for Cochran gave him the extra margin to surpass his opponent.

This is more reason for Chris McDaniel to run as a write-in candidate in the general election.

So, you expect things to be different in the next two years by handing the Senate back to the Rats on a silver platter?

I expect things to be different when we destroy the gop and quit rewarding those bastages for betraying us over and over again.

Sure. If should only leave the Democrats with absolute power for a decade or so.

Your single (potential) vote had THREE possible outcomes.

Outcomes are not to be confused with the number of mathematical qualities involved. The vote has two mathematical qualities: 0 (stayed home or withheld) or 1 (cast for a candidate).

Had I cast my vote halfway through the match, would my vote have had the same -1 quality? Presumably, then, every vote cast halfway through by every voter, had a -1 quality, canceling each other out. Canceling out is a mathematical equation, though our brains perceive it as "voting against."

In fact, the only thing we did was vote FOR something else.

The "against," the -1 quality, is in your mind.

Cochran MUST be defeated if McDaniel is unsuccessful in challenging the results.

I can respect that. Especially since from what I read here, the Democrat challenger is pro-life, pro-gun, and anti-Obamacare!

It's something you can vote FOR.

One more thought.

Let's go back in time and say it's Nov. of 2012. I refuse to vote for Romney (indeed, I voted for Tom Hoefling). You say, "but don't you want to vote against Obama?"

And then you explain to me that my vote has a third mathematical function, of -1 to Obama! Wow! I didn't know I could vote against Obama! I thought I either had to vote for Romney, or vote for Obama! Wow!

Except that voting for Romney and voting "against" Obama are the same thing. The -1 quality is in the mind. That's why the strategy has failed all the time we Republicans have followed it. Hey, I voted for Meg Whitman! It still give me chills.

On the ground, the only strategy that will work is one based on voting FOR.

It’s not about enjoyment, it’s about getting rid of the putrid rot so our nation can begin to heal.

Maybe you vote for enjoyment, right now our country needs therapy.

So your “therapy” is to throw the nation to the Rats for the next decade. Brilliant.
You want to kill the patient to save him.
I don’t like what happened. But it happened.
Pull your BS and they win it all, all the time.
I bet you are one of those fools who was too Holy to vote for Romney.
and now you bitch about Obama.

Guess again - your wrong conclusion is what happens when you run off on an emotional tantrum.

Thinking clearly, it is easy to see that liberals control all aspects of our culture: government, media, education, judicial, arts and entertainment, banking and finance, and now industry.

The reason for this is the conservative voices are stifled and/or marginalized - often by those who claim to be representing that voice, i.e. Boehner, McConnell, Cochran, Cantor, etc.

They are a cancer on our country and our culture - more insidious because they hide the true nature of their tendencies. The enemy within (the RINO) or the false ally (the rotten gop establishment) are far more dangerous than the enemy without (liberals). Before we are able to effectively fight the enemy without, we must eliminate the ones within.

If, as I believe, our country is in serious trouble; and if, as I believe, the only hope for our country is a return to solid conservative principles of governance, and if, as I believe, the RINOs and the gop establishment are more apt to thwart serious attempts to more toward conservative principles than to assist them, and if, as I believe, the governing culture allows for only two parties to effectively participate, THEN, the only hope for our country is to destroy the gop, which is a placeholder lackey for the liberal machine. A vichy party, if you will, that denies the ascendance of a true conservative movement by occupying their space in obeisance to the liberal rulers, not in opposition.

You appear to be afraid of “throwing the nation” to the dems, while ignoring the reality that our country was turned over to the dems a long time ago - highlighted by the years the gop held both houses of congress and the presidency, yet did NOTHING to change the course set by the liberals.

Our nation is already thrown to the liberals. The only way to change its course is to IMMEDIATELY, if not earlier, destroy those traitors in our midst who eagerly run to the liberal masters, panting out information and vows of cooperation and fidelity in hopes of getting a pat on the head or a positive mention in the media.

ENOUGH! Quit pretending that we are better off supporting these liars and betrayers of truth and justice. The more you support them, the more inevitable becomes the march to destruction. Because we were too afraid to face the truth, and pretended that those naked pretenders were clothed in splendid, conservative garb, we have brought ourselves to this precarious position.

The liberal machine WANTS you to view their agents as our only hope in slowing the socialist agenda. They chortle with glee at the prospect of conservatives voting for their battalions of Manchurian candidates. It is time to destroy the party that has so foully betrayed its platform and philosophy. Destroy the gop now, take the harsh medicine that we must in order to have any hope for the future...or continue to vote Vichy as we have obediently done in the past, because the situation is so dire.

Funny, isn’t it? We have been stampeded into voting for unsavory candidates thrust upon us because of the precarious state of our country...yet the situation never improves, in continues to worsen, and the cries are even louder and more panicked that we must vote for the Vichy party or else....

Interesting that you aren’t at all interested in my argument for destroying the gop, nor in presenting yours in support of that rot. All you can do is call me a moron, make erroneous assumptions about my actions and my motives, and scream - as many have done in the past - that the sky is falling and because the sky is falling we must vote for the faithless bastards who have repeatedly betrayed us in the past and eroding the sky’s support structure. We’ve heeded the call many times in the past, yet the sky continues to fall.

I have utterly destroyed your argument that the current dire situation demands my loyal vote yet again (in the gop, loyalty is evidently a one-way street). You offer no argument in rebuttal, but you all ME the moron; and you desperately try to paint me as the emotional tantrum thrower.

If you want to vote for the Thad Cochrans, who (unless you are a traitor in our midst as well) has just publicly called you a racist radical, be my guest.

But if you want to demand my vote for the traitors yet again, you need a much better argument than, “Yeah, these spineless worms are really bad, but the dems are much worse; so vote for the really bad spineless worms again”. You haven’t provided any argument to support your position; but you have the chutzpa to demand I vote in fear yet again, and the audacity to call me a moron.

Would you like proof?

By all means.

There are 201 votes. The first 200 have been cast, 50 50, mine is the tie-breaker. But I vote for a write-in.

There are still 201 values of one involved. PERIOD.

WRONG! They throw that one in the trash and chalk it up as a statistic only.

If the quality of a vote could be -1, then in the end, when all the votes were tallied, there would only be 200 votes.

There were only two hundred votes in play, and nobody won, because you threw away your vote.

The reason nobody won is; when you subtract the smaller count(loser's total) from the larger count(winner's total) to determine the margin...it was zero.

No matter how you slice it...100 minus 100 = 0. And by the way Pythagreous, when you subtract something, the numbers being subtracted are considered to be NEGATIVE numbers (votes).

But that is false -- there are 201, evenly split except for one that went sideways...

No! That's not how it works. Your vote, that "went sideways" was disregarded and treated as a zero vote, since it didn't actually count towards (or against) one of the totals of the major players in the election. It was set aside as a wasted vote

who cares.

Probably all the people who didn't want an American-hating, murdering-moslem, baby-killing communist, dog-eating packer as the winner.
