The incumbents have a lock on who the state parties nominate. You can’t vote for somebody who’s not nominated by the Republican Rinos in the state party apparatus.
You can knock on all the doors you want, but if the state party dictators have a death-grip on the party funds and nominating process, it’s all for naught.
People need to understand how their state party organization works and invade it.
I sympathize with what you're saying. But that would take a rewrite of the Constitution, not to mention the absolute chaos and expense of having everybody voting for 435 individual congressional races. No thanks. Things are bad enough.

The fastest growing party is the LIVs. People like us bitch about our Reps and Senators and try to do something about it. But the LIVs have us outnumbered.
And the Marxists and libs (but I repeat myself) work 24/7/365 to increase the number of LIVs.
Common Core is a fine example.
Maybe if they made it “firing squad” instead of “firing”. That would definitely get more interest.
A couple of problems. For one thing, this “Tea Party” label has got to go. There’s no such thing in the first place, and it exists only because the press has managed to lump any conservative or objector to the Dem/GOPe project as a “tea partier.” In my town, the group that calls itself the Tea Party (all ten of them) occasionally marches around in 18th century outfits and then uses your e-mail address to spam you with weight-loss and Viagra ads (regardless of your sex!).
Another is that we do have to get more involved in the overall process. I’ve been thinking a lot about the things that happened in MS, and a couple of things occurred to me. For one thing, conservatives need to get involved not only intellectually, but in the day to day conduct of elections and GOTV drives. More poll watchers in MS would probably have been a big help.
That may mean working with the state GOP, an experience that is frustrating beyond belief, because it’s a combination of party hacks and incompetents, coupled with a low level staff of “interns” who are complete idiots and are only there for a couple of months at a time - so of course they have no idea what’s going on.
Naturally, these people don’t want conservatives or anybody who’s going to call them to account. However, bit by bit in my county, a few good people have managed to get in and things are changing.
So overall I think there’s got to be more mainstream influence and less letting the press and the Dems and the GOPd define anybody who doesn’t agree with them as a “Tea Partier” and hence a flake who can be written off.
I agree about changing the name from TEA party.

Now that would really put the monied groups in control of the entire election process.
Actually the best method is to bring the entire process down to it’s lowest denominator and
location, then remove all the non local entities out of the process and let the locals elect
amongst themselves. At least that would be close to being representative of the home folks.

The consequence of parents not making sure that their children are taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers is the following. When the corrupt feds say “bend over” on any issue, the constitutionally illiterate sheeple ask, “how far?”

The hardest thing is that the local party club is composed of such complacent idiots and petty would-be bureaucrats! But that’s where you have to start.
FR posters attribute malevolence to the local GOP, but I can tell you from personal experience, it’s more stupidity and just going along to get along than anything else.
One place where I lived, the husband of the head of the local GOP ran a pyramid marketing scheme and then did “faith healings” in his garage when he wasn’t selling his faux product. She was busy helping him (when she wasn’t turning away volunteers) and actually “borrowed” the modest computer equipment the GOP office had in order to put it in the garage. There finally was an audit and they left, but it only happened because a few more aggressive conservative people had joined.
It’s very frustrating to work with these people. But then, since I’ve been getting weight-loss and Viagra ads from the local “Tea Party” e-mail list, I guess there’s no safe place.
Politics is simply ugly, but the problem is that it controls our lives in a lot of ways and anybody who has the guts should really go out there and start fighting. Surprisingly enough, people do join you. They were probably just waiting.
True. I’ve been following the Cochran debacle, and apparently, the thing that put it over the top was flyers handed out to black voters that told them that McDaniel, the opponent, was going to take away their “free stuff.”
I would love to see one single black person stand up and say this was degrading and disgusting, but that’s never going to happen. Instead, they all did what the Dem/Cochran campaign told them to do and got on their church busses and voted for Cochran.
The game is now rigged so that it’s almost impossible to replace members of the House and Senate. We need to repeal the 17th Amendment and the House Rule limiting membership to 435.
