BREAKING: Allegations Point to Cochran Campaign in Mississippi Senate Vote Buying Scandal
RedState ^ | 6/30/2014 | Aaron Gardner

Posted on 06/30/2014 7:21:24 PM PDT by Viennacon

An audio interview has surfaced in which the interviewee claims that he was to be paid by the Cochran camp to grease voters in the Mississippi GOP Senate runoff election. The audio interview, which coincides with a separate audio recording and batch of evidence produced by the newly launched GotNews.com, a project by Charles C. Johnson, alleges that the Cochran campaign conspired with a Mississippi Reverend to buy the votes of African American voters, who happen to be democrats.

Before I get into the weeds of what is in the audio interview and transcript, which are both below, let me set up the stage a bit. What is alleged to have occurred is illegal and very serious business. Under Mississippi law the alleged crimes could lead to Thad Cochran being removed from the Senate. Everything that follows comes from sources either on the ground in Mississippi, or those working closely with them.

Reverend Fielder has claimed to have evidence that would prove illegal activity took place in the Mississippi GOP Senate run off election. Furthermore, the evidence he claims he has would implicate the Barbour machine and a staffer to Cochran’s Senate campaign. The motivations of the Reverend are not those of a saint. As is made clear throughout the interview and in the transcript, this Reverend is looking to get paid to provide information, just as he sought to get paid to deliver votes by illegal means. Reverend Fielder claims that Cochran’s people were supposed to pay him approximately $15,000 for his efforts, but failed to do so after the incumbent Senator had achieved victory in the run off.

With all of that said, if the evidence is produced and validated, I don’t know how much longer Thad Cochran will be a Senator.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been saying for a while too: GOP machine, in it’s ruthless attempt to take out McDaniels, got completely set up by the Dems.

Cochran has dug himself a hole.

The Rats colluded with him, for money of course, to beat McDaniel. Now the Rats are gleefully ratting out Cochran for buying votes.

Conservative are so mad they will probably sit out the November election. Independents will vote for the Rat & Blacks will laugh all the way to the polls as they vote out Cochran.

Cochran will likely lose in November. He deserves it.

Congratulations Pubs! You may well have lost the Senate Majority with this corruption.

I”m not for gerrymandering, but I still don’t see the connection to vote-buying.

Vote-buying is vote manipulation...
Vote-manipulation is dishonest...
Gameing the system is voter supression..
Voter supression, supresses the value of some votes...
AND increases the value of other votes...

When votes are supressed other votes are more important..
How important is your vote?.. which votes do you deem less important..?
Which IS the point....

Voter fraud is multi-faceted..
Voteing is predicated on an honest system...

When a ballot box is stuffed.. those votes have been bought..
Not with money but with creative accounting..
Someone was paid to do it.. they were "bought"..

Well, that’s been standard operating practice here in Southeast MO for quite a while. “Walking around money.”

You are still not presenting a rational argument.

Vote-buying is bad, and gerrymandering is bad.

Vote-buying goes on with or without gerrymandering.
Gerrymandering goes on with or without bote-buying.

I still don’t see how they are otherwise linked.

We agree.

>> Fielder was paid here. His story may or may not be true.

That’s why I advocate getting a sworn affidavit from him.

Opportunity without action amounts to nothing. This is a huge opportunity, attack on all fronts.

The story has not been picked up by Forbes.

"The story has not been picked up by Forbes." Don't know how that "not" got in there!

Of course, if this had been a Cochran win in the general, you know Eric Holder would be all over this.

Sucks to realize that the Libertarians have been preaching a nugget of truth the last couple of decades, doesn’t it? I am about ready to hit the reset button on the whole stinking system.

Naw. They’d never buy votes? DimoCommies do this. Not RINOcrats. Oh, wait, they are one and the same. Never mind.

McDaniel was interviewed about this on Lou Dobb’s show tonight.

The other full-of-suck thing about this is that it makes it much harder to point fingers at the RATS for voter fraud.

Even if the Cochran story doesn’t pan out, the libs will hold it in their pockets to bring out at an opportune moment when they need cover.

I didn’t see that. Can you give us a run down of the interview on Lou Dobbs

I have to confess I was doing the dishes at the time, but basically McDaniel alleges that there are many many (thousands?) of “irregularities” and he also talked about the pastor. He wants it investigated, yada, yada....

There may be a vid show up on Fox with the interview later.

it can be proven true or false fairly easily with the review of the texts. i don’t think the rev. is an expert on spoofing. but we’ll find that out too.
