Senator Pat Roberts Makes Major Freudian Slip in Interview (Video)

Appearing on a Kansas City local radio talk show on KCMO Thursday morning, Senator Pat Roberts made a verbal gaffe that plays right into his primary opponent's main talking point against him.

Reports show that Roberts spends very little time his home state of Kansas - less than 100 days using official funds over the course of two years, an issue his opponent, radiologist, Dr. Milton Wolfe has capitalized on.

"After 47 years in Washington, it's clear that Kansas is a distant memory for Pat Roberts," Wolf said back in May. "How else do you explain Roberts wanting to spend his time anywhere but Kansas? Maybe if he still lived here he'd actually want to return here. "

When KCMO talk show Greg Knapp asked Roberts about the residency issue, Roberts answered that his performance shouldn’t be measured on where he lives.

“I don’t measure my competency or my record or the results – and I do get results – on where I put my head on a pillow,” he said.

But pressed about listener concerns that Roberts does not actually live in the state, the Senator faltered badly. “Every time I get an opponent, uh, I mean every time I get a chance I’m home,” Roberts said.

In another misstep, today, the Roberts’ camp retweeted a race baiter who slimed Milton Wolfe by saying Roberts should not have to debate “a racist and a fool”. The campaign deleted the retweet after one minute, but the damage was already done - Twitchy has the screenshot.

The endorsements of the “Senate Conservatives Fund” is not infallible (they’ve endorsed their share of poor candidates such as Sharon Angle and Ken Buck), and neither is Mark Levin’s endorsement while we’re on the subject.

They actually belief that they owe some sort of “debt of gratitude” to Pat Roberts simply by reason that the old coot has been in office for 47 years. Never mind that whatever contribution he may have made in his early years, is now some miniscule dot on the butt of history. And it does not bother them that he doesn’t even meet the minimum requirements for residency and bunks with some friend rather than own any real property in the state he supposedly represents. As for Kansas58 in particular, he/she claims to be a former treasurer of the GOP in Kansas, so there’s the link to the GOPe.

Well, there you go. These troglodytes spend 2/3 of their life in Washington DC, don't even LIVE in the states they're supposed to REPRESENT, and because they continue to do things that benefit the ruling class (and trickle-down some crumbs to the great unwashed), their electorate is expected to hand them the golden scepter, election cycle after election cycle, until they die.

That's not the representative republic that the founding fathers intended, it's an oligarchy.

I agree that most ratings are useless, especially the ACU ratings, which is a total sham. But I think Heritage does a pretty good job of outing the RINOs who game their ACU votes.

Tell me when Roberts has personally been on National T.V. berating the current administration.

Tell me when was the last time Roberts was on some national talk show attempting to educate the vast un-washed about the evils of Obama and all his scandals.

Don't tell me he's sponsored Bills. Don't tell me he's voted this way 88% of the time.

TELL ME...when he's lead a PROTEST movement!! When has this guy, that's been around so long...been relevant...in the grand scope of things!?!?!?

Why do the McCains, the Hatch's, the Roberts, the Inhofe's, the Grassleys...The McConnell's..The Collins...the Cochran,s...the Enzi's, etc,,,etc,,, of the Pubbie Senate....not BAND TOGETHER...CALL A PRESS CONFERENCE and MAKE DEMANDS!!!?!!?

Well...they can all go pound sand...I don't give a flip about them anymore.

This country that I love is going to the wolfs..the go along's to get along and the thugs.

You go ahead and tell me different. Just go ahead....I don't give a rat's ass anymore....after MS...I know where the mainstream Pubbies stand. Period.

And it's high time...folks all over the country know the same..........

Take it or leave it..........

How about you tell me one damn thing that makes this clown Wolf qualified to be a Senator.

I KNOW Roberts is a conservative because that’s his record. Wolf doesn’t have a record, just a naked desire to be a Senator and a lack of concern for the ethics of his profession.

I could give a rats ass about Wolf...

WHAT HAS ROBERTS DONE FOR THIS COUNTRY IN ALL HIS YEARS!?!?!?!?

Has he ever DEMANDED OBAMA STOP DOING ANYTHING ON THE AIR...????

WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING WHILE OUR COUNTRY GOES TO HELL????

ANYTHING???

Is he pledging his land, fortune and holdings to fund a resistance? Nope. Is he promising to fight Obama and his destruction of America to his death. Nope.

Is it time for Pubbie Politicians to promise stuff like that...?? Yeah I think so.....Very much so.

The Left in power thinks like that...and the Right in power don't. Plain and simple.

Someday...I hope everyone on the right understands that.

THEY never give up. NEVER. "WE" talk...and try to "compromise"...The left tries to CRUSH us.

Now tell me again ROBERTS accomplishments to date.

Anything jaw dropping that changed the direction this country has been going for the last 20 years???????

Once again....has he been railing against OBAMA on TV lately?...Within the last 3 months...last 6 years?

Have their been a coalition of DINO RINOS...opposing OBama? NOPE!!!

So....tell me again...what's ROBERTS done..that's deterred in anyway,...our direction.

And where does ROBERTS actually live.

You know?

Personally I could care less....unless it's Pakistan or China...or something like that...: )

Well that's a pretty stupid position! I don't care how much you huff and puff (seriously, chill), I for one don't support replacing a Senator unless it's with someone better. People posted the same garbage about Mike Enzi, when his opponent Liz Cheney who was clearly WORSE. This nonsense doesn't fly, buddy.

"What had he done what has he done" he's voted the right way 95% of the time, that's more the large majority of Senators, I will NOT back some random doctor with poor ethics against that just for the sake of change, that's IDIOTIC! Idiotic.

You want a Senator to be MAD at? To justify all caps screaming rants? I recommend Lamar Alexander. I know Mark hasn't told you to care about his race, but maybe you should look into it eh?

Thanks!!

Ping your friends, your relatives..your Senators and your Congressmen.

Just know...I ain't the only one that thinks like this...

You must know,...or you don't. Voting is one thing....ACTUALLY saying what you believe and letting the MS PUBLIC know is another thing.

Plenty of these CAREER GOPe's lean on their "votes" and point to them as a badge of honor. Yet most of the time lately...NOTHING they vote on get's passed....

I will ask you once more..Tell me when all those Senators I listed will group together and publicly DENOUNCE Obama..., HOLDER, KERRY, Clinton etc...etc..

When happens get back to me...other wise it's business as usual with the GOPe.............

I love how they rant and rave that Roberts hasn't DONE anything in 20 years, but they're backing a guy who literally NEVER lifted a finger in his life to do ANYTHING conservative and didn't even start TALKING conservative until he decided he was going to run for the U.S. Senate in 2013 and reinvented himself as a "fearless conservative leader"

One set of rules for Roberts, and another for Wolf, apparently.

>> They actually belief that they owe some sort of “debt of gratitude” to Pat Roberts simply by reason that the old coot has been in office for 47 years <<<

Straw man argument.

Not ONE Roberts supporter here has claimed we "owe" him a "debt of gratitude" for being in office in 47 years or that he's "entitled" to another term. The Liz Cheney fanclub (most of whom are are also Milton Wolf supporters and have now flip-flopped 180o degrees on their "principles" about whether a politician should have a track record of living in the state they're running from), made this straw man argument about Enzi, and it wasn't true then, either.

What we actually SAID was that if you put up a candidate who is a PROVEN reliable conservative and we know would vote BETTER than the incumbent, then we'd have reason to get rid of the incumbent.

But since all you can find are creeps who put X-rays of autopsy photos on the internet for laughs and market themselves because of they're distantly related to Obama, your candidate is simply NOT an improvement over the incumbent. Find one who IS and we'll support them. The concept is not that hard to understand.

Carr is a clear improvement over Alexander but the Levin crowd won't lift a finger to support him. Does that mean Mark Levin thinks we "owe" Alexander a "debt of gratitude" for being in office since 1978? Levin hasn't said so, but going by your "logic", if he's not sold on Carr, he MUST think Alexander is "entitled" to a lifetime career, right?

I gave the only answer you’re gonna get from me.

I reject your entire line of thinking, yes I know you’re not “the only one that thinks like this”, lots of people repeat whatever crap they hear Mark Levin say on the radio.

It’s exactly the same as with Enzi, they would not even mention their own candidate, they pretend the person they want to elect is not relevant to the discussion!!!!! Possibly the most ridiculous kind of thinking ever. I can’t take it anymore.

Great...!!

You won't answer questions...like Lois Lerner pleading the 5th! Awesome!! HA!!!

You stand by and do nothing while your Senator is NOT standing up verbally and visually to the current POTUS...Barrack Hussein Obama!!!??? Okay...GREAT!!!

I know OF Mark Levin...but I'm a bit more well rounded than getting marching orders from just anyone.

Appears to me...that you all have your orders from the GOPe........OR are still lost in old thinking....

When you want to address the REAL issues...let me know. Otherwise....re-arrange the deck chairs.

>> you all have your orders from the GOPe....... <<

This is the other tired talking point that Liz Cheney/Milton Wolf fans repeat ad infiminium: "If you don't blindly support MY candidate, you're working for the GOPe!!!!" GOPe! GOPe!!! GOPe!!!!

Accusing fellow conservatives of being part of the "GOPe!!!!" if you don't blindly shut up and agree with you has become the Milton Wolf/Liz Cheney supporter equivilent of leftists screaming "RACIST!!!" at anyone who disagrees with Obama.

Which of course, would be news to entrenched Republican establishment incumbents like Lisa Murkowski, Bob Bennett, Lamar Alexander, Thad Cochran, Richard Lugar, Arlen Specter, etc., etc. since we've been outspoken AGAINST them when they're up for re-election, and have the track record to prove it on FR. But in all those cases, their primary opponent had a PROVEN track record of being a much more conservative opinion. Weird how we have no qualms about opposing the "Republican establishment" in those cases if we work for the "GOPe", isn't it?

In fact, most of the self-proclaimed "Tea Party leaders" wouldn't even lift a finger to oppose entrenched RINOs like Lamar Alexander and Lisa Murkowski. Funny how you rant and rave that fellow freepers are part of the "GOPe" because we won't support a joke running against a 90% conservative Senator, but you have nothing bad to say about the "Tea Party leaders" who stand by ideally while the worst RINOs in the Senate cruise to re-nomination. Worse, some of these supposed heroic conservative "reformers", like Steve Lonegan and John Thune, have actually openly ENDORSED the WORST members of the liberal Republican establishment, (like Leonard Lance & Mark Kirk), simply because those RINOs give them $$$. So much for their "principles". Let me known when you denounce them for getting in bed with the worst members of the "GOPe". I won't hold my breathe.

You didn't have to say it twice!! HAHAHA!!

My point is Roberts is a DINO RINO...doing nothing of real importance all these years. He's been watching the destruction of our country. And SAY'S NOTHING!!!!

You all...bring up his voting record. Screw that!! I don't care...about his "voting". WHY IS HE SILENT!?!?!?! Why doesn't he scream to high heaven about what Obama is doing.??

FWIW-...I have the same questions for Coburn!!!!
