For when Larry Ellison goes on a rampage?

Why do they need a tanker?

I don’t think they do. I heard they have some gang activity, but nothing that would warrant this.

Well, we all know which way this is going...

“Police added the new vehicle will only be used for emergency situations.”
Like serving warrants.

It will be used to run over dogs - in people’s yards.

My hometown of DeFuniak Springs (population 5,400) got one a week or so ago. It was free except for shipping.
Of course they have no need at all for one but I will have to admit, if someone offered me one for free, I would probably take it.

We arent going to be able to stop the proliferation of the military weapons to local police forces.
Its important, however, to change those things we can, and in this case one thing to change is our perception of those weapons.
We need to begin thinking of them as resources for our side, resources being maintained and fueled for us to use when they are needed.

Our rural blue collar county just got one, too - it must have been free, since they are supposedly broke. The swat team brought it out recently as mentioned here with pic:

Did somebody say warrant?! Quick, to the MRAP!
Very limited use, but when you need a bullet proof vehicle it is nice to have one. The locals in my area have an old Air Force security vehicle that looks like a mini BTR-60. They use it when they have barricaded suspect with an open field of fire. They have only used it three times in the last six years I have been in the area. They don't use it for every warrant they serve.

Don’t municipal governments have a say in the operation of their PD? At least they are accountable to voters.

They need to install a solar trickle battery charger on this, so it starts when they decide they need it (as long as the fuel does not corrode something)!
