Ravel: Sonata for Violin and CelloMinimalism is a recent trend in classical music, supposedly prompted by the frequent use of weed by current day musicians. But Ravel was writing minimalism in 1922 combined with impressionism. His use of dissonance may be a bit off-putting for ears not steeped in the early Twentieth Century tradition, but this is a good piece for those who want to know what was going on in Parisian music circles ninety years ago after the War to End All Wars.
