ver the last four years, I have lived with the constant threat from a stalker a stalker who is now in jail for the third time for violating a restraining order.
Every day I live with these questions: What if today is the day that my stalker posts bail? What if today is the day that he discovers my parents new address? What if I go to a lecture on campus and he shows up there?
I feel that I have no control over my life. My family was forced to move. I have had stay indoors, keep drapes closed, avoid posting on social media sites, and even change my car. Its almost like being held hostage.
Should myself and other female victims just have to put up with this? The answer, hopefully, is no. Women must be able to defend themselves. The most effective way of doing this is by using a gun. When police arrive to enforce a restraining order, it is usually too late.
I have been living such a nightmare for over four years. I was 16 and working a café in San Diego when a 67-year-old man, Richard Bennett, came in the store for coffee. He kept coming back, staring at me for long periods of time, and trying to flirt. He then would sit outside the store for the entire day.
The nightmare soon got much worse. He followed me around outside of work, demanding to talk and saying that he was trying to protect [me], then he began bothering my friends, security had to remove him from scholarship pageants that I participated in, and he attempted to attack my then boyfriend in high school. I was forced to take out a restraining order. . . .

can he post from jail
and why doesn’t the girl just carry instead of asking, don’t ask, apologize
/johnny
Exactly. Just keep a gun in your purse.
Precisely! She could easily establish the defense of necessity if she were somehow caught.
Carry concealed and don’t say a word about it.
That’s what I would tell her if she asked for my legal advice.
Posting while jailed happens a lot more than most the public knows. I don’t understand why it’s allowed, but it often is. I’ve heard of murderers tormenting the family of a girl this person has killed by posting vulgar remarks on their facebook sites. I’ve heard of a prisoner, locked up for a traffic violation plus other things, managed to send multiple pizzas to the home address of the arresting officer, for no other reason that childish spitefulness. I don’t know who decides to let this happen. The internet is still a relatively new phenomenon, so maybe the necessary laws to prevent this from happening have not been written yet.
Gotta go with the question.
Why is the OP’s name the same as the stalker?
That’s kinda... odd. And... creepy?
From his record, it looks like he almost exclusively posts and runs. This is a bit creepy.
Well, the article states that this all started four years ago when Richard Bennett was 67. The posters name ends with a 72, which is also oddly close and well within the realm of possibility when it comes to age.
Just sayin’.
No can do, no gun for you...the man is a pervert, therefore he is a protected class, you are already doing the right thing; staying behind closed doors, drawing drapes, moving as often as you can, just continue doing these things and don’t forget to carry a whistle.
If you had a gun, there could possibly come harm to the pervert, a member of the highly prized, protected group who are necessary to the forward movement of the socialist democrat party, we all must sacrifice for the greater communist advancement so stop your whining and get with the program, maybe if you would just stop resisting his advances everything would turn out okay.
“Ive heard of a prisoner, locked up for a traffic violation plus other things, managed to send multiple pizzas to the home address of the arresting officer,”......
This was done by using the telephone in jail. Prisoners do have access to the telephone but NOT the internet, at least in our jail.
Creepy.
I agree with you
why wouldn’t he answer
maybe it is him
God sleuthing freepers - waiting for a reply from him - very odd.....
Bump to the top.
Still waiting for a reply.
and a lot of gun-related stories at that . . .
Good catch.
Yep. According to the article, the last time the stalker was arrested, he had a “rape kit” in his car (duct tape, etc.). This girl really, really needs help.
I believe Dartmouth college is in New Hampshire. I wonder what the rules are there for concealed carry. Certainly the college can prohibit carry, but suppose you break the rules?
In some states that would be a misdemeanor. In others, the business can only tell you to leave. If you don't, only then can you be arrested.
