I wonder what the people who mocked Bush for calling Putin “Pootie Poot” are thinking now?

Remembering that this was the same man who used to call Karl Rove 'turd blossom'. Was he marginalizing Rove then?

Do they realize he was marginalizing Putin and putting him in his place?

And when Bush said he looked into Putin's eyes and got a sense of his soul and said he was straight forward and trustworthy, was he marginalizing him then?

He was telling him how to behave. Have you ever managed people?

“Sense of soul” was from Bush’s very first meeting with Putin. Putin had just been appointed by Yeltsin and hadn’t secured his power. Oil prices were low and thus Russia was poor. The deceiver Putin knew he had to call up all his acting skills to appeal to the president of the most powerful country in the world and he managed it for a short while. That’s it.
