Money Hidden in Bra and Girdle Seized by Customs Officers

A Florida woman was allegedly caught carrying almost $41,000 through customs, with much of the cash reportedly hidden in her undergarments.

Victoria Faren, 78, and her daughter were stopped April 2 while trying to board a flight to the Philippines out of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, federal court records indicate.

The court records, filed Friday, recount the strange incident, during which customs agents discovered the elderly woman allegedly attempting to smuggle the cash through airport security.

When Faren and her daughter were first asked by officers how much money they were carrying, Faren reportedly said she was carrying $200. Her daughter reported carrying $1,200.

Records indicate Faren later reported carrying $1,200 on a written declaration, a figure change that made officials suspicious.

Why does the money now belong to the US Government? Would she have been able to transfer the money if she’d taken it in $9000 increments?

"No charges were placed, but officers seized the $40,977 as “currency forfeitable to the United States.” Assistant U.S. Attorney Gjon Juncaj is petitioning to have the cash forfeited to the government."

That's just straight-up thieving.

Sounds like somebody is badly in need of a blanket party....

You can transfer more than $10,000. You and both banks have to report it, and a lot of foreign banks just don’t want the hassle.

They’ve got to be stopped. Our government is our enemy now, and this long pre-dates Obama & Co.

This civil forfeiture sh*t is for the birds.

I’ve seen some stuff lately saying that all this: where are your papers, etc. cr*p all came about because of WWI.

Likely true, but I wonder if some of it might not have come about anyway.

You can even carry more than $10,000 in cash across the border. You just have to declare it on your customs forms. That wouldn't keep them from jerking on the drug dog's leash and claim it is drug money, but they wouldn't be able to snatch it automatically like they can by lying on a customs form.

Why does the money now belong to the US Government?

Because they have more gunthugs than Victoria Faren, the 78-year-old woman?

It's simply amazing that the Feral Gubbmint is POWERLESS to prevent massive violations of "The Law!!!" at our southern border, but when the opportunity to steal a bunch of cash from an old lady using the self-same "Crimnel Jesters" code arises, they're ON IT LIKE STINK ON OBAMA.

Didn't the unprosecuted felons at the IRS just get the power to hassle foreign banks to the point where very few of them will actually take money from peasants behind the IRS Curtain?

Worst Liar of The Year Award goes to Victoria!
Next time a 78 y/o lady meets with TSA looking as stacked as a young Dolly Parton, best question to ask her is “Pardon me Maam, but where do you do your banking? And don’t say anything about Hope Chests!”
