More than 100 people marched through the streets of Oakland on Friday evening, protesting police brutality in solidarity with those in Ferguson and calling for justice in the name of Bay Area victims of violence at the hands of law enforcement.
The march was billed as a "F- the Police" action by organizers, but "FTP" meant different things to different people.
Patricia Williams, 17, of Oakland said "FTP" for her and many others meant "For the People."
There were windows broken and property damage during the march. One person was arrested in Berkeley.
Police faced off with protesters near a freeway on-ramp and, at one point, someone in the crowd discharged pepper spray.
As night fell, a few protesters with covered faces pulled out paint cans and hammers and sprayed antipolice graffiti on buildings along the march route and broke some windows of businesses on Telegraph Avenue.

More proof that idiocy exists everywhere.
Why aren't the media asking why one cop that shot a black criminal in Ferguson Missouri, has anything to do with blacks rioting in Oakland California? Basically it is blacks just trying to stir up trouble and enable other criminal behavior across the country. Do they think this is "their time" and will take over the country? I don't get what their end game is.
If strong armed robbery, violent assault against the police, arson and looting are "For the People," good luck with that. I hope she is the beneficiary of her beliefs.
Liberals like violence by blacks against others. It's a feel good thing.
In my opinion, I say remove the police from Berkeley or Oakland.
Police anyway should always be local and should simply follow the Constitution.
If the police of Oakland somehow aren’t representative of these good folks, then let them start over again and organize their own policing.
I’m curious to see how that would work out.
There are at least 2 freepers I know of who are going to be there, at least in spirit.
Riiiight, while in Chicago two people are killed and eight wounded in drive by shootings and no one in the black community complains or comes together to fight the anarchy in Chicago.

Oakland is a large city.
A hundred malcontents ain’t squat.
The media is complicit in magnifying these flyspecks.
Wouldn’t the mayor Raul Emmanuel be the first target of the black rioters as the one responsible for the anarchy in Chicago? Why are they giving him a pass?
They can fill a TV screen that people are too lazy to ignore.
I bet it was a very smelly event.
Only one hundred? This movement not getting much traction.
The media are now but an extension of the BHO Disinfotainment Conglomerate!
whip up the crazy anger.
