Thank God we don’t have any problems in California that need to be dealt with so that these morons who were elected to deal with them can stick their noses into the business of a private enterprise in another state!

Tell Cali to go pound sand. They’ve plenty of sand and plenty of places to pound it.

The first sentence of the story is confusing. Do they want the Redskins to change their name, or the NFL to change its name?

;-)

"...because it is "believed by some to be a racial slur and to promote discrimination against Native Americans."

Why should the "beliefs" of "some" ever be a basis to coerce anyone to do anything?

It’s only confusing if you try to make sense of it.

Just stop trying; it’s California.

CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY VOTES TO CHANGE WASHINGTON REDSKINS' NAME
Deceptive headline. Story says - "California lawmakers voted Monday to urge that the National Football League change its name ..."

Connecticutt - From an Indian word (Quinnehtukqut) meaning “beside the long tidal river”
Illinois - Algonquin for “tribe of superior men”
Indiana - Meaning “land of Indians”
Iowa - Ioway Indian tribe
Kansas - Sioux word meaning “people of the south wind”
Kentucky - Iroquoian word “Ken-tah-ten” meaning “land of tomorrow”
Massachusetts - Massachusett tribe of Native Americans, meaning “at or about the great hill”
Michigan - Indian word “Michigana” meaning “great or large lake”
Mimmesota - Dakota Indian word meaning “sky-tinted water”
Mississippi - Indian word meaning “Father of Waters”
Missouri - Missouri Indian tribe
Nebraska - Oto Indian word meaning “flat water”
New Mexico - Mexico, “place of Mexitli,” an Aztec god or leader
North (and South) Dakota - From the Sioux tribe, meaning “allies”
Ohio - Iroquoian word meaning “great river”
Oklahoma - From two Choctaw Indian words meaning “red people”
Tennessee - Cherokee origin Tenasi tribe
Texas - Indian word meaning “friends”

Not being a football fan my first thought,on reading the header, was “I didn’t know The Redskins were a California team”.

This P.C. stuff is driving me mad.

Perhaps they should be outraged closer to home when the “Golden Bears” were a cavalry troop that hunted the Modoc Indians? They were known for their absolute brutality to the Indians and later became the namesake of California.

Pray America wakes up

"believed by some to be a racial slur and to promote discrimination against Native Americans."

Why has no one yet conducted a poll among Native Americans to see how they feel about the whole thing?

Anyone who isn't Native American has no dog in this fight and needs to sit down and STFU.
