Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) suggested that Republican candidates in this year's midterm elections should run on granting a pathway to citizenship for all of the country's illegal immigrants.
Ryan, who had reportedly been working behind the scenes with Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) to get House Republicans to support a broader immigration bill, said that he was "having problems" convincing conservatives to support immigration reform, which he said was "very important."
In a Wednesday interview with Bloomberg News, Ryan said he supported a "path to legalization" for all of the country's illegal immigrants. He said illegal immigrants should be able to "earn citizenship" after they go to the back of the line and not cut in front of legal immigrants.
When asked if he was saying that if illegal immigrants "do a series of things," they "can stay here legally forever," Ryan replied, "They can always get a work permit that is renewed indefinitely." When asked if he would "like to see Republican candidates run on that in this election cycle," Ryan replied, "I'm putting it right here in my book."
A plurality of Americans in multiple national polls have said they would be less likely to vote for candidates who support amnesty legislation.

Third party time
Paul’s about to switch parties, and he’s playing games with us, right?
Maybe Ryan is over-influenced by his wife’s Democrat family, the Borens. I forget the relationship, however.
My father and stepfather both risked their lives and my stepfather spent 18 months in a refugee camp working 18 hour days for a bowl of pasta (both are from Eastern Europe) for a CHANCE to come to this country. I have zero tolerance for line cutters.
I’m of the opinion that they should run on sending the illegals home in order to contrast themselves from the Dems. Runing as Dem-lite does not inspire the base and does not give the middle any reason to vote for the GOP.
Paul Ryan is dead to me.
God help the first imbecile who tells me that I need to support him if he’s the GOP nominee.
He can’t debate for sh*t and he’s a moron which means the RINO party will make him the nominee.
I guess Mitt didn't really mean what he said about creating an environment where illegals would self-deport. What a shock [/sarc]
The libs called him Eddie Munster in the 2012 election.
Eddie Munster was far more likeable than this traitor Pablo Ryan.
CBS Sunday Morning is going to do a story on Pablo Ryan this Sunday.
I saw a clip of the story. In one segment, the reporter showed Paul Ryan’s yearbook, and a commented printed in the yearbook called Ryan a “brown noser.”
The reporter asked Ryan, “Are you a brown noser?” Ryan replied, “No, I’m not.”
From the way Ryan is acting, I’d say Ryan is a big-time brown noser for the traitors at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Those scumbags at the Chamber must have promised Ryan a big, fat cushy high-salaried job after his butt is finally booted out of Congress.
"I am not a witch."
What a great way to lose both houses of Congress and every state legislator, permanently... Paul Ryan must be entirely nuts.
Guess he should listen to Vice President Ryan - oh, wait...
Paul Ryan sucks harder every day.
You nailed it. Ryan has been in DC since he was a very young man. He will never offer a solution because is a big part of the problem.
“Snookered into making a deal with the dumbest member of the U.S. Senate, Patty Bin Murray”
Hey, wait a second. I’ll match my Sen. Babs Boxer up against your Patty Murray any day of the week.
We have a path way to citizen ship, that has worked for years.. so the illegals the back of the line..
Tough call, but I think Patty beats Babs in the yearly survey of Senate staffers. But the competition is getting more intense every year. Our own village idiot (Bob Casey, Jr.) would give the women a run for their money.
