'UnFair: Exposing the IRS' screenings will feature a Q&A with Mike Huckabee
A version of this story first appeared in the Aug. 29 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
Right-wing heroes are hitting the big screen, at least for one night.
UnFair: Exposing the IRS will screen in 674 movie theaters Oct. 14, followed by a panel discussion with Mike Huckabee, one of the documentary's stars. The film features interviews with members of Tea Party groups and others who were allegedly abused by IRS officials.
"The IRS shakes down innocent people, harasses them out of business, and does so without accountability," Huckabee says. "It wants you to provide a restaurant receipt from seven years ago, but it can't even follow federal law to keep up with its internal correspondence by email."
Fathom Events, which brings alternative entertainment like sports, concerts and speeches to cinemas via so-called "four-wall" rental deals, is banking on a conservative fan base to turn out for the Gadsden Films documentary, which also features Glenn Beck, Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Michele Bachmann.
"Fair-minded Americans don't like it when anybody is targeted by the IRS be it Alan Dershowitz by the Nixon administration or Tea Party groups by this administration," says executive producer John Sullivan, who co-directed Dinesh D'Souza's America and 2016: Obama's America.
The movie was written and produced by nationally syndicated radio talk show host Craig Bergman and directed by Judd Saul.
"2014 marks the 100th anniversary of U.S. citizens paying income tax," says Fathom exec vp Shelly Maxwell, "and movie theaters are the perfect place for this national town hall event."
Considering that US taxes are being used to finance radical Islam under this radical Muslim posing as our POTUS I think would be reason enough to go on a nationwide tax strike. Plus as we have seen with the current foreign invasion over the border, if “everybody does it” then it’s OK!
The IRS has taken money from Americans,
targeted ANYONE supporting the US Constitution,
and transferred the money to ... Hamas and
other terrorist organizations.
To celebrate this, the EXEMPT in Congress
made Islam exempt also from ObamaCARE and
put life and death also in the hands of
the IRS/Hamas.
It’s not a scandal. It’s a crime. And the bastards got away with it.
“Fair” Americans are getting harder and harder to find as the nation polarizes. Everybody wants short cuts to their ends.
The few “fair” Americans left are usually conservative. There is the occasional exception, like ex-Dem pollster Pat Caddell.
“The IRS shakes down innocent people, harasses them out of business, and does so without accountability,”
I don’t think this is what the founding fathers intended.
This is tyranny!
Bump for later.
Just want to add — I went to the Glenn Beck presentation about Common Core he broadcast to movie theaters this summer. It was a great way to gather your town’s conservatives in one place. We live in suburban sprawl here in a blue county, so there are few ways to meet others with our point of view. Looking forward to seeing this movie as well.
Tomorrow night is the big night!
I’ve been sending the message below to all my friends around the country.
I pray that the theaters will be packed!

Friend,
As many of you know, I have spent more than two decades advocating for an end to the IRS, and the income tax systems at both the federal and state levels. Unfair: Exposing the IRS documents the unconscionable Obama Administration abuses of the powerful governmental instrument we call the Internal Revenue Service.
The first step in overcoming tyranny is knowledge.
Every American needs to see this movie!
Please do what you can to help get the word out. If every patriotic American who receives this message will pass it along to everyone on their email list and in their social networks, we can send a powerful message to the country.
Thank you, and may God bless the USA, and our posterity, with an IRS-free future.
For Liberty,
Tom Hoefling

This is why we need unprecedented tax reform, including the possibility of repealing the 16th Amendment and replacing the income tax with FairTax.

Full house for Unfair in West Des Moines! Just told full house in Indianapolis as well!
Saw the movie tonight in Hurst Texas.... the theater capacity was 493. There were 481 empty seats !! American apathy !! The IRS must be shut down.... yes, the Fair Tax is the only answer ....yet Congress (both sides) will never allow this as their power and ability to reorder society is based in their ability to financially control the masses via this onerous tax code !!
ANTI-IRS DOCUMENTARY UNFAIR SURPRISES BOX OFFICE WATCHERS; FILM SELLS OUT MULTIPLE VENUES ACROSS AMERICA
One night Fathom event sells out in locations in Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and others
Los Angeles, CA (October 17, 2014) Gadsden Film announced today that their first feature length documentary film UnFair: Exposing the IRS concluded their nationwide one night special event premiere movie release on Tuesday night, October 14th, with multiple sellout crowds.
We really proved the grassroots model for independent film releases on Tuesday night, said filmmaker Craig Bergman. Our efforts relied heavily on volunteer grassroots Theater Captains to spread the word, promote, and turnout activist in their local theater markets and we were amazed and humbled by what we experienced.
Although final box office numbers were not available at press time, the film crew said the Turnout was very encouraging for the future of the tax reform movement. Locations in cities around the nation reported being sold-out or nearly sold-out in Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas.
This was a one night only, limited event, which we choose to do primarily to raise the profile of the film, not really to reach a broad cross-segment of the population. To meet the demand of the grassroots, we are shifting now to engagement and cross promotion of the advance DVD and Blu-ray sales via our website UnFairMovie.com and on other partners websites as well,” added director Judd Saul.
Our message to our fellow American citizens remains the same, Bergman stated, Tax policy is moral policy. This movie, UnFair, has exposed the IRS and the income tax system as unfair, un-American, and we have ignited the fuse on the movement to abolish it and restore our liberties.
The film features interviews with numerous political stars including Senator Ted Cruz; Representatives Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, and Steve King; and former Presidential candidate and Fox News host Governor Mike Huckabee.
“I was very happy to have been involved in such an important project, one that finally calls out the IRS for what they are,” said former governor Mike Huckabee, who appears in the film. “I am excited for the film’s continued success.”
The films website www.unfairmovie.com which once served as the on-line portal for ticket sales, now lists multiple items for sale: The DVD, Blu-ray, Book, Movie Posters, and T-shirts. We will be taking this message across the nation with additional showings, screenings, and promotions after the new year, concluded Bergman.

Susan and I went to one of the three theaters here in Jacksonville that showed the movie. My best guess is that roughly 150 people were in attendance.
I thought the movie was well done, and the movie needs to be shown again, and again, and again.
I have purchased two DVDs and will be using them to get the message out to as many people as I can. I think it is an excellent vehicle to spread the FairTax message.

Outstanding!
It was very well received. I really do hope that Craig can arrange several more showings.
