For a community gripped by the death of Michael Brown, residents here are prepared to not only mourn for the loss of the 18-year-old, but also to say goodbye to him in his funeral Monday and vow to never forget what his sacrifice has meant.
After more than two weeks of protests, political wrangling over investigations and swarms of media coverage from around the world, the Brown family will be laying their son to rest after he was shot dead in the middle of the street by a police officer on Aug. 9.
Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church is bracing for thousands expected to join the services Monday morning, where scores of Brown’s extended family are set to join for the closed casket ceremony, along with several celebrities and high-profile attendees. Despite the expected spectacle, church members here expressed warmth toward the Brown family and conveyed a sense of honor that they would choose the church as a place to say goodbye to the teen.
“We’re just so thankful here at Friendly that the Browns have decided to allow us to share in the honoring of their son,” said Yashica Stimage, a member of the church.
Rev. Osagyefo Sekou has been out on W. Florissant Ave., the epicenter of the protests, nearly every day and every night to honor the slain teen. For Sekou, having Brown’s funeral at the first church where he previously served carries a heartfelt meaning....

Are his parents going to be there? I would assume so for the photo opp.
I want to know how much they were there for their son growing up. He had to live with his grandmother. Are his parents really victims are or is society the victim because they didn’t raise their kid well?

Will some one name the WH Delegation that represented the

All this posturing is just making the chasm greater between the races....
I figure the lid will ‘blow off’ during the funeral - will it be a Caisson funeral?

When this erupts, I can see the Ferguson PD and the St. Louis County Sheriffs Dept standing back an letting it rip.
Guess the Gov will show up sans body guard...don’t want to upset funeral procession..
The NEXT riot will be to demand that the cop give ALL the money raised for him on the net to the Brown Family.
Of course, in todays fragile world, he will probably present it to them just prior the noose being slipped around his neck as his executioner prepares to remove his head with a paring knife.
It was a “gentle robbery” gone wrong due to a racist cop. All whites and all white cops are racist.
Since his mothers last name is now McSpadden, his parents obviously didn’t rais him together.
BTW, I had to look through 4 LSM articles that only referred to him as “Michael Browns mother” or “Michael Browns parents”. Finally found it in a PJ Media article
I wonder if the Westboro Baptist Church is going to show up? But then again the Phelps family have receiived awards from the Topeka NAACP, and are longtime democrats so they probably got their orders to stand down.

Democrats mourn Michael Brown just as they mourn the alleged passing of Osama bin Laden; they are sad that someone who worked so tirelessly to undermine America was finally killed. Brown’s corpse should be fed to farm animals as compost, not given a burial.

I fear that's exactly what will be demanded in the civil lawsuits that Crump is penning right now
