Sam is making the squad because Goddell will force them. He might allow the Rams to hide Sam on the practice squad.

The NFL is obviously homophobic. What happens in the bedroom is more important than what happens on the field.
He needed only to rob a liquor store over the weekend, then he would have been assured of making the team.
I can’t believe they won’t keep him on the practice team at least. Other issues aside, he’s had some good moment (albiet against second and third team offensive lineman). The guy was a good college player, and plays above his size and skill set. Given that they took on this situation voluntarily, I don’t see them completely letting him go.
The “first openly gay player” is a tweener DL... Not big enough to play inside. Not tall enough to play DE and not fast enough to play OLB.
He was getting a little behind in his training.
