Still, one has to wonder at the nature of the belief system here. The Koran, Hadiths, etc. et. al. plus all the jurisprudence even of the most conservative legal schools recognize the Dhimmi status and what is being demanded here isn’t legal according to all that. Since radical Sunni Islam is all about being perfectly aligned with all this legalism, this is not kosher (so to speak).

This is so confusing. So which is it, a “special tax” or the sword? Can’t the IS make up their minds? Who’s running their accounting department?
