Probably Russian hackers trying to silence critics of Putin and his invasion of Ukraine.
It is a “Browser Prefs” setting...for Firefox see: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-phishing-and-malware-protection-work#w_how-do-i-use-the-phishing-and-malware-protection-features Browsers use the Google “list” that is generated by Google’s web-crawling scans to ID bad sites/links. Turn it off in your browser “prefs” (under “security” usually). Someone posted a malware link at post #4 of that thread, and a mod has since deleted the post....Google’s list hasn’t caught up, or may not ever catch-up/update.
Firefox uses this Google “bad list” as described in my prior posts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Safe_Browsing
The Mods have probably reported the thread in question as being “fixed” now, using this Google form: https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_error/?tpl=mozilla
I get that too, also on Drudge, The Blaze & Breibart. I noticed started this summer and only on my android phone. I believe something is going on.
Same thing appeared on my screen yesterday when I was reading a posting’s replies and clicked on the link to go to subsequent comment pages. I got out of it by refreshing FR all together but I thought it strange at the time that one of FR own posting pages contained a threat of malware. I thought it was just a glitch in the link at the time but didn’t think much about it until I read this posting.
Maybe someone on the left doesn’t like us. Or maybe the Russian mafia hacked us.
Earlier today I was reading an article on Free Republic and got one of those warning from my Norton which said there was a Malware threat on the page. I got off....then went back later, and it was fine.
At first I thought FR was hacked, but no mention when I got back on.....I was suspicious of Google or NSA/government interference. So don’t know what happened, but I can verify that Warning was happening earlier today, at least to me.
