Brain-dead PC liberals. What will it be next, the same mush for brains crowd wanting the state of Washington to be renamed because the first president owned slaves? This is more proof that liberalism is a mental disorder. Stay tuned.

have it replaced in the Emerald City with “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.”

And the accomplishments to be celebrated are ...?

Indigenous People’s Day should celebrate Kennewick Man and his ilk. He preceded any of the Indian tribes, or so they say.

Apparently it was recently discovered that Kennewick man was basically Polynesian. Perhaps the day could be called “Polyamory Day,” thus honoring both Kennewick man and the proclivities of the residents of Seattle.

Destroying national myths and traditions is a malicious hobby of the left - leaving a vacuum for murderous islamic myths, I guess.

In actuality, Columbus Day for many years has become a celebration of Italian-American culture almost completely removed from the real Columbus. Particularly in the tri-state area where so many of them live. I wonder if DeBlasio (a Kraut, actually) will try this.

Yes Washington is on the politically correct hit list.

In New Orleans, they deleted the name of George Washington School because Washington owned slaves. They renamed the school after some obscure king in African history.

No word though , if this move boosted the self esteem of the almost all black student body, or if it improved student achievement.

They “renamed” King County in WA a few years ago to make it named after ML King.

That’s what I’ve been saying.

Once they get the “Redskins” part, they will go after the “Washington” part.

We Polynesians will be demanding reparations from so-called “Native Americans” any day now. Twenty-five percent of all gaming revenues would be a start.

This is all about the anti-God crowd. With Columbus he brought missionaries. After Columbus the floodgates opened for more Spanish exployers, and with them of course more missionaries to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the New World. Without these early early Christian exployers the Arabs might have brought the word of Allah.

From the Catholic website, EWTN:
“Columbus was a flawed hero—as all men are flawed...his flaws are of a kind particularly offensive to today’s culture. ... For some strange reason heroism is almost anathema to our age, ... But heroes and the inspiration they give are essential to uplift men and women; without them, faceless mediocrity will soon descend into apathy and degradation. Heroes need not be perfect; indeed, given the fallen nature of man, none can be perfect. It is right to criticize their failings, but wrong to deny their greatness and the inspiration they can give.

Christopher Columbus is the discoverer of America, and by that discovery ultimately responsible for America’s evangelization; and for this we should forever honor him.’

Why don’t the Columbus haters just move to the country of their ancestral origin if they resent being dragged here?
Why don’t the C

They want to get rid of Columbus but they still want a holiday.

Screw that! No Columbus no holiday. Get back to work.
