Obesity rates reach historic highs in more U.S. states
MSN News ^ | September 4, 2014 | Reuters

Rates of adult obesity increased in six U.S. states and fell in none last year, and in more states than ever - 20 - at least 30 percent of adults are obese, according to an analysis released on Thursday.

The conclusions were reported by the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and were based on federal government data. They suggest the problem may be worsening despite widespread publicity about the nation's obesity epidemic, from First Lady Michelle Obama and many others, plus countless programs to address it.

From 2011 to 2012, by comparison, the rate of obesity increased in only one state.

The 2013 adult obesity rate exceeds 20 percent in every state, while 42 have rates above 25 percent. For the first time two states, Mississippi and West Virginia, rose above 35 percent. The year before, 13 states were above 30 percent and 41 had rates of at least 25 percent.

You are correct. I have found that when I eat more protein, green vegetables and less carbs, I am satisfied with less food and I have more energy. It takes a while for my body to adjust to this diet but it is good for me.

I’ve gone from a size 16 to a size 4 and I feel great. I’ve got no complaints, that’s for sure.

A few days ago, my wife was eating “healthy” low-fat yogurt. I asked her to look at the breakdown...it was just one small step better than a candy bar. It was packed with sugar - but that is the sort of food that is supposed to be healthy!

Yeah, I know! It’s hard to find plain, 4% fat yogurt these days, because the Mooch effect has made grocery stores stock so much fat free garbage. I make my own Bleu cheese salad dressing, because mine tastes better and I can add fat (whipping cream) to it.

I use a lot of coconut oil and butter. Both fats kill my appetite for hours, so I have enough energy to avoid a mid-afternoon snack.

Before today, I had never seen a post by mase.

You have been busted. The post wasn't directed at you but you were too bent on trolling the thread. Name calling? I'm LMAO at you for being so stupid as to admit guilt.

Wow, even resorted to name calling. An engineer huh?

Here is an engineering insult for you. What is it like to live in a world where your intelligence falls within two negative standard deviations of a normal curve?

The picture is included if you have trouble reading or understanding the question.

Fat, like smoking, is a choice; ‘do what thou wilt’ just don’t ask me to pay for the results of your poor choices.

But you are forced to pay for it. Should the govt force healthy choices on us?

Arriving at a U.S. airport made me want to gouge my eyes out.

Yes! I know, exactly, this feeling of wish you speak.

That musta been fun. (living in Estonia). My dream is to live in one of the eastern euro countries for a while.
