The health problems of smoking are associated very largely, though not exclusively, with the byproducts of combustion, not with the nicotine as such.

That's the point, fool. You get your dose of nicotine, without all the other harmful by-products of burning organic materials. As to other supposedly "harmful chemicals" the WHO and FDA are warning about - what exactly are they?
