Should Mitch McConnell Be Next Senate Majority Leader? Cruz Won’t Say

In an interview with ABC News, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, predicted his party would reclaim the Democratic-controlled Senate in November, but he declined to endorse current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., as the party leader should there be a transfer of power in the upper chamber of Congress.

. . . . .

But when asked if he would endorse McConnell — currently embroiled in a tight race for his Kentucky Senate seat — as Senate majority leader, the Texas Republican said that is a decision that would be made “when the time is right.”

“Well, that will be a decision for the conference to make, but I am confident we will have a new majority leader,” he said.

The Dems didn’t need any R votes for cloture on Obamacare.
Here is the FR live thread from the night cloture was passed. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2391564/posts?q=1&;page=551

the roll call vote is in post 562 (by our most worthy Deport).

Compared to Obama, Romney comes across as Attila the Hun....

Now I feel better about voting for the fink!

You may not realize this, but we both are pretty close in our agenda. I am just more practical and less emotional haha.

In 2012 I voted for my last choice from GOP, the moderate from Mass., only because I was intimately familiar with Chicago politicians and especially Obummer’s background. I have learned to not cut off my ears to spite my nose.

In 2016, I do not want another mild mannered republican nominated, especially Romney. Hillary will have the whole MSM behind her and she is surrounded by a skilled political machine.

It is absolutely imperative GOP nominates someone who is not afraid to counter attack immediately. Romney/Jeb Bush are NOT those candidates. I will even go along with Christy only because he will not be cowed down in debates.

I’m not emotional about it, I just won’t reward liberal republicans with a vote. Ever. Rewarding liberals with a vote makes the republican party more liberal.

I understand that emotion, but why were you OK in helping the most liberal man in the world, Obummer, by abstaining?

Obama is 100% for abortion on demand.
He is 100% for amnesty to illegals.
He is 100% for raising taxes on the hard working & successful and productive.
He is 100% blaming America for world’s problems. He said so in the Cairo speech.
He is 100% for socialized healthcare also known as Obamacare.
He is 100% against Tea Party agenda.
He is 100% for increasing food stamps, now 47+ million.
He is 100% for increasing minimum wage beyond what small business can afford to stay in business.
He is 100% for cutting military.

Romney was not worse than Obama on any of above issues, and significantly better on some issues.

I hope GOP primary VOTERS will give us a better choice in 2016. That will happen only if many conservative candidates do not divide votes among themselves. Shame on Santorum and Newt for not reaching a compromise and one of them to not drop out. If it is Jeb versus 2 or 3 conservatives until the end, we get Jeb.

It’s not emotion, it’s simple logic. You seem to be emotionally invested in defending the liberal republican, Romney.

When you choose Obama over Romney, I question your power of reasoning. I chose Cain, then Newt during primaries. In General, I chose Romney over Obama. No way in hell I would do anything to help Obama get re-elected.

I didn't choose Obama. That's your characterization, and it's false. I chose a conservative candidate.

That isn't choosing Obama, regardless of the twisted logic you try to use.

No thanks. I won't choose any baby-killing gun grabber, either D or R.

Running a liberal as the republican candidate for president is a losing proposition.

You gave up your principles, Obama won anyway because liberal republicans can't win the presidency, and your vote rewarded the liberal republicans, and make them want to try to run another liberal.

You got nothing but bragging rights that 'you didn't vote for Obama'. So, Obama won anyway, and you embolden the republicans to run another liberal because THEY CAN COUNT ON YOU TO VOTE FOR A LIBERAL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE.

The world’s most liberal man, Obama, won because many mis-guided voters abstained. I did my job trying to stop destruction of our country.

Are you thrilled with 100,000 illegal children dumped on our borders? Will you get more thrills when Obama issues an executive order for blanket amnesty to illegals right after November elections?

Are you thrilled, Obama engineered complete withdrawal of our military from Iraq so that ISIS can now take over and brutally behead our journalists and massacre Kurdish women and children?

Are you thrilled with Obamacare?

I am disgusted at operation OBUMMER.

He won anyway. You didn't vote for him. Neither did I.

You told the GOP-E that you would vote for whatever liberal came out of the crooked nomination process.

I told them I wouldn't.

You make it much more likely that Hillary will win because the GOP, knowing that you will support ANY liberal R, will again push through a liberal republican.

Are you happy with that outcome?

Because I still won't vote for a liberal republican.

I was wrong in that instance.

No johnny, you're wrong about most everything. I never thought I'd see "conservatives" that were equally dumb or dumber than the GOPe; I stand corrected.

Anyone who considered themselves a patriot who didn't rise up and throw out this monster when they could, this wholly anti-American, pro-Marxist, pro-muzzie, pro-death, pro-racial strife, pro-everything that is evil, is no patriot, but a preening phony fool. No sane conservative did that, not Cruz, not Palin, not one.

Anyone who actively tried to make the claim that Hugo Chavez is the same as Hubert Humphrey, that Fidel Castro is the same as John Kennedy (and yes, you know the comparison I'm talking about, the one you made over and over again) isn't worth the spit in tobacco juice. And yes, you have blood on your hands, blood as the world burns with muzzie and Russian triumph, blood as our country burns from the horror of the illegal invasion, the racist insanity, the economic travesty, and the ever worse and instituted slovenliness put forth by these people. Rather than admit your idiocy, you preen around this board as if you did something to be proud of.

More personal attacks to defend liberal republicans. I will continue to politically destroy liberal republicans every chance I get. Liberal republicans are why Obama won.

Johnny, because you are not an evil man, I will write one more time.

GOPe did NOT shove Romney down our throats.
Even with all their money and support, Romney NEVER CROSSED 30% in most earlier primaries. 70% of voters did NOT vote for Romney. Do you recall how many candidates were dividing those 70% votes among themselves? Cain? Satorum? Newt? Perry? Bachmann? Johnson?

Let us put the blame squarely where it belongs...NO UNITY AMONG CONSERVATIVES.

So stop blowing smoke about GOPe having power to shove anyone down our throats. If conservatives want to win, they should run ONE candidate against the GOPe.

Once Romney was nominated, only choice left was Romney or Obummer. I used my brain and pulled the lever against Obummer. I feel thoroughly vindicated based on how Obummer is destroying the country. Obummer has never created a single job befoer he became president. Obummer has never run anything which survives by making a profit.

The GOP cheated. It seated all of Florida's delegates, even though Florida had their primary early, they should have only seated 50%. One instance of GOP cheating in the presidential primary.

Yes, the GOP cheats, like they did with Cochran.

You may not want to believe it, but it's true.

I will always try to politically destroy liberal republicans, in any election, primary or general.

One party can be made liberal-free, and that isn't the Dems.
