Cruz: Stop deferred deportations with CR
The Hill ^ | 09/09/14 02:04 PM EDT | Alexander Bolton

Posted on 09/09/2014 12:44:31 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Tuesday that legislation to freeze President Obama’s executive order deferring the deportations of illegal immigrants who come to the country at a young age should be attached to a stopgap spending measure.

Setting up a possible confrontation over the funding measure that would keep the federal government open beyond September, Cruz declined to rule out opposing the stopgap bill if it allows the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program to continue.

“I think we should use any and all means necessary to prevent the president from illegally granting amnesty. Certainly I think it would be appropriate to include in the [continuing resolution] but I think we should use every tool at our disposal,” Cruz said.

Cruz, however, declined to say whether he would urge House conservatives to oppose the stopgap funding measure if it did not include language freezing deferred action on illegal child migrants.

“I have a habit of waiting to actually see what’s in legislation before I make a decision whether I will support or oppose it,” he said.

Ever notice that Sen. Cruz is busy every day fighting the Marxists of the Senate? Ever notice that you don’t hear that your GOP Senators are standing with him in that fight? What are they doing that is more important than what he’s doing?

Just once in my lifetime I would love to have two truly Conservative Senators from Texas. Cornyn and Kay Bailey took turns voting so ended up cancelling each other out. We never truly even had one during their joint tenure. Cornyn continues to be a disgrace.

As long as the Texas GOP-e political machine is controlled by Austin it will continue to be so.

The GOPe have already said they aren’t going to shut down the government so they’ll never allow this to see the light of day.

Absolutely agree. I, too would like just once that ALL the GOP would stand together on issues - just ONCE -

The Dems would all be on the Capital Building steps with a microphone holding a faux news conference to boost their position. Media laps that up.

WHAT is the matter with our side? Don’t answer, as I DO know, just venting / ranting here. The Karl Marx Rove’s of our party make me sick. Grow a pair - like Cruz control has done. Trey Gowdy, Cruz and a couple of others. Hey folks it’s a start. I hear Rove’s idea for 2014 is to “not make waves”......... AAAAAAAAAACH. THAT is why Romney LOST (along with voter fraud).

First we need control of the senate...
step by step - that’s how it’s done. Keep the faith folks and keep making phone calls. Bammy is in a tizzy - he can’t get the pubbies to push amnesty through so he can blame the pubbies. This is soooo convoluted, isn’t it?

Sen. Cruz needs to clone himself about 1,000 times! He’s amazing in person and makes you feel that you are not the one so out of touch...as he presents facts and figures that every American should know!!

His funniest thing is when he talks about Joe Biden. He says, have you ever noticed that all you have to do is say Joe Biden and the next thing that happens is laughs and jokes as that is what Joe Biden is.

The GOP Senators are doing what they're told by their leadership.
Keep your mouth shut, stay out of the limelight, do not fight back
unless it's against Conservatives.

I received a GOP email saying how much they need to remain Conservative and
to send them money. Really?

Every single Republican in the House and Senate voted against Owebamcare.

People should give to individual candidates, not the RNC.

I’m not surprised they are pretending to be Conservative. They want your money.

I hope Senator Cruz can make his case now.
I expect he’ll be cut off at the knees after Novembers election.

Amen! That's the way I've been doing it for years. Groups that raise money for the "party" can go pound sand. Same goes for United Way.
