Senate Republicans are preparing an agenda for their first 100 days in power next year in case they win majority control of the upper chamber, The Hill reported.
The agenda includes authorizing the long-delayed Keystone XL oil pipeline, approving fast-track trade authority, rolling back new Environmental Protection Agency regulations and repealing Obamacares unpopular tax on medical devices.
Republican senators insisted they were not measuring the drapes in anticipation of a wave election sweeping them into power after years in the minority.
We will have to be prepared if we are in a position to govern, Sen. Bob Corker said. You got to think about those things youd like to produce.
Even if Republicans can win a net gain of six seats to seize control from Democrats, the GOP would be far short of the 60-vote majority needed to break filibusters. That could make it difficult to push through their legislative wish list.
Still, Republicans said that many of their priorities have support from Democrats, including giving the go-ahead to the Keystone XL pipeline and repealing the medical device tax.
We should be able to do that in the first 30 days, said Sen. Ron Johnson, Wisconsin Republican.

They will also be far short the 67 votes needed to override BO vetoes. But it will be good theater, at least.
Yeah sure. Big talk when they can just blame the lack of any of it materializing on the president or an inability to override a veto. It’s all Kabuki theater.
Bob Corker? Give me a break.
Typical.
GOPe will find a way to lose this, but they will be so disappointed that their plans for Amnesty, Tax Increases, and the destruction of Civil Liberties can’t be implemented.
Instead of WINNING with CONSERVATISM.
Compromise, fold, and give Dems equal representation on committees?
Sadly, a GOP Senate does not necessarily inspire much confidence, except more of the same. The last GOP majority was as much of a disaster as the opposition.
McConnell has already said he will undo Reid’s decision to allow appointees to be confirmed by only 51 votes. STUPID STUPID STUPID! They changed the rule, so make THEM live with it.
I can support this, I am surpirsed that they are attempting to be prepared at anything though.
That border and the waves of immigrants and criminals crossing it has to be in the top 3 on their list. Rounding up and sending them home I hope is on the agenda somewhere as well.
McConnell will restore the filibuster on nominees, so only pro-liberalism nominees of either party can be approved. And he’ll keep the power to prevent “certain” amendments, which he’ll use to deny any and all conservative amendments to bills.
Which is why I hope he loses in November.

Exactly. The Dems rolled Republicans and showed no mercy. Now its time for payback but but I’m not optimistic. Pubbies are pathetically weak and anything but conservative. They are good at finding ways to lose.
McConnell strategy:
DAY ONE: Make power-sharing deal with Democrats
DAY TWO: Kick Lee and Cruz out of all committees
DAY THREE: Amnesty

FReep mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Reid dispensed with the filibuster rules when it didn't suit him. So that is the new normal for the democrat majorities. Are the Republican majorities going to govern with the outdated rules?
True...but if the public is heavily in favor of some of these measures Obama will look worse and worse, eating away at the chances of the Dem candidate in the next Pres. election.
If we vote them back in they dang well better do something constructive and quick.
So where is the trial for Ovomit, after the House impeaches him for executive amnesty?
Not one dime’s worth of difference. McCornhole and Bonor are not leaders.
Me too...he needs to go. He worse than a democommie in my opinion.
saying they are going to do it... and doing it are completely different things.
