American Christians Are Booing Ted Cruz, Too
Daily Caller ^ | 09/12/2014 | Matt. K. Lewis

Posted on 09/12/2014 7:09:47 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Ted Cruz’s commitment to the state of Israel is sincere and beyond reproach. So too, it seems, is his commitment to grandiosity and self-promotion.

With that in mind, having read the Washington Free Beacon’s reporting about Hezbollah supporters being featured at the Middle East Christian conference he would address Wednesday night, the choice to take a public stand for Israel – a move which got him booed off stage! – probably seemed like a slam dunk.

How could defending Israel possibly turn out badly? On top of everything else, it would show boldness and courage.

That was my initial take, too — and it may still turn out that way. This high-profile incident may very well help him amongst evangelicals in Iowa. But, it turns out, not so much amongst Christian opinion leaders inside the beltway.

Mollie Hemingway and Michael Wear were among those who weighed in. But this from the New York Times Ross Douthat that really got me thinking:

@McCormackJohn Telling M.E. Christians they “have no greater ally than the Jewish state,” the line that touched off the booing, is risible.

— Ross Douthat (@DouthatNYT) September 11, 2014

This is an important, if subtle, distinction — and one that conservatives should be familiar with. Douthat is suggesting that the crowd wasn’t booing Israel, instead, they were booing Cruz for playing politics — for having the audacity to lecture them about their own business.

You lost ALL credibility, in your first sentence, Mattie. No thanks.

There is no wedge between Cruz and conservatives and this will just help Cruz.

Are there any Christians left inside the beltway?

Exactly. We're talking about a relative handful of Arab so-called Christians.

The biggest mistake Israel's great war hero Moishe Dayan made was inviting the Arabs to stay when they were packing up to move out after Israel's rapid conquests of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the 1967 war.

Israel was so concerned about their world image at the time. They should have been more concerned about allowing fifth columnists to remain in their midst.

“’In Defense of Christians’ Summit Features Supporters of Hezbollah

Questions surround a Washington, D.C. conference whose stated purpose was to gather lawmakers, Eastern and Western churches, community leaders and a variety of Christian groups to confront the problem of genocide being perpetrated against Christians by ISIS.

According to Alana Goodman, writing at the Washington Free Beacon, In Defense of Christians (IDC) was funded by a controversial Clinton donor that featured pro-Hezbollah and pro-Assad speakers.

Clinton donor and Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury, who pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative in 2009, reportedly provided funding for the IDC summit.”

‘In May, AsiaNews.it reported that Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Rai, also scheduled to speak during the IDC keynote time slot, travelled to Jerusalem to meet Pope Francis during the pontiff’s visit to the Holy Land. Rai was criticized for visiting Jerusalem by two pro-Hezbollah newspapers, referring to his action as an “historic sin.”

Rai noted, however, that he was only going to Jerusalem to meet the pope and would not meet Israeli leaders, stating he was “aware that Israel is an enemy state that is occupying Lebanese territory.”’

“Another attendee at the IDC summit, Syriac Orthodox Church Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, posted photos on his Facebook page on September 5th with a “high level delegation from Hezbollah.”

Also present at that meeting with Hezbollah were Al-Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Al-Sayed, president of the Political Council in Hezbollah, and Ghaleb Abou Zeynad, the terrorist group’s designated Christian relations diplomat.

IDC summit speaker Antioch Church patriarch Gregory III Laham in 2010 charged that a “Zionist conspiracy against Islam” is responsible for al-Qaeda attacks on Iraqi Christians, according to the Daily Star.

“I believe it is necessary to deeply examine fundamentalism…and terrorism that are masked by religion, along with violence and disturbances against Christians here and there and on an increasing level,” the patriarch said. “All this behavior has nothing to do with Islam.”

“But it is actually a conspiracy planned by Zionism and some Christians with Zionist orientations, and it aims at undermining and giving a bad image of Islam,” Laham said.”

Well, nobody in the beltway is “leading” this Christian’s opinion.

Slut? maybe. Ignorant? Not by a long shot. Daily Caller (Tucker Carlson) is a mouth piece for the GOPe and the “moderate” wing of the Party.
Like the earlier snarky little hit piece on Sarah Palin, this is nothing more than a preemptive strike on behalf of the Christies, Bushes, Romneys and Peter Kings. In the age of Obama, slander, innuendo and rumor is the accepted way to run an election campaign. Accepted from and by the left only, of course.

The great apostasy is building in the _church_. It has mixed and mixed the way of the world and wondered far from the way of YHVH. He says he will give them over to their desire, He will send a strong delusion upon them; those that celebrate the days of Jezebel, they will be thrown onto a bed of sickness (tribulation in several translations). This is for the _majority_ of the church, the delusion to tribulation; those that desire traditional teaching and celebration days, over His word and His days. A feast is "eating at the table" of a god. The table is an alter where food is sacrificed and shared with your god.

"20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality. 22 Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds." Rev 2:20

America's Fundamentalist Protestants are going to have to make a decision. Their religion is not authentic, historical chrstianity. They can either convert to authentic, historical chrstianity (and forsake the Jews) . . . or they can become Noachides. This incident with Ted Cruz may very well be the beginning of this decision.

Jerusalem is becoming a burden to all nations, as G-d wills. What side are you on, Fundamentalist Protestant America???

That’s exactly how I see it. And you can tell because this is being floated by third-stringers. They are trying to see if there’s any traction to be had. I can’t predict, but Cruz and his potential, whether Presidential or not, are not going to be tarnished by this most trivial of dirtbombs. People who like Cruz recognize that there’s infinitely more at stake than the panty-wrinkles of a couple of insignificant little dirtbags.

This was a set-up by antisemitic lefties of the same ilk as Matt K. Lewis to bait Ted on a solid Christian and GOP ideal - Support for Israel. No story for here except in the minds of lefties.

Remember real conservatives like Crux and A West are as despised by the GOPE almost as much as they are despised by the dems. Never Forget this fundamental fact.

Cruz is clearly (IMO) the best candidate for President to save our Republic in 2016. This makes him Enemy #1 among the Establishment. They will go to any lengths to try to destroy him.

Hopefully the Tea Party will coalesce around 1 candidate early so we don’t see a repeat of 2012. Especially since the GOPE is trying to rig the primary process to guarantee a Bush/Romney/Christie moderate to run in lieu of a conservative.
