Third Time’s the Charm: Mitt Romney should run in 2016. He could win.
Politico ^ | September 11, 2014 | Robert C. O'Brien and Hugh Hewitt

In early June 1964, a group of Republican governors sought to wrestle control of their party from Barry Goldwater, the Arizona conservative who was about to lead the GOP to one of the most crushing defeats in its history. The governors saw a disaster in the making, and sought a moderate candidate who could capture the imaginations of grassroots Republicans—but also beat President Lyndon Johnson in the general election. Led by Ohio’s James Rhodes—the Republican Governors Association was meeting in Cleveland, and Rhodes was a legendary vote counter—the group included Pennsylvania’s William Scranton and later New York’s Nelson Rockefeller.

Couple that interview or statement with the real Mitt Romney—the one from the documentary— speaking to the nation from the heart every day and on every stop. Match that Mitt against the polished and calculating Hillary Clinton. Well then, as Paul Ryan said, the third time really could be the charm. Romney may still do this—2016 needs Mitt even if Mitt doesn’t think he needs it … yet.

Of course that Willard boot licker Hugh Hewitt wants Romney to run gain in 2016. Maybe he thinks he can squeeze a few thousands more sales of his Romney love letter of a book. Tell me how Romney would improve on his poll numbers in terms of people stating which candidate cared more about them, or his 47% remark, or all the attack ads Obama and his allies unleashed about Romney's being a corporate hatchet man at Bain? We have so many talented candidates who have proven records pick which ever one from Jindhal, Walker, R Paul, Cruz, etc. We do not need to settle for a retread who has shown over and over again he is a failure as a candidate.

And Charlie could kick the ball.. but he won’t...

And Mitt won’t win. Not with out conservative votes and he’ll get fewer of those this go around than he did last time.

Sleight of hand trick. Have all the Republican candidates run and plot up the bite o the DemoRats can get behind one canidate and put him over the top. Heck I bet the Dems are getting the RINOs to whisper in their ears “You know you should run. I think it’s your year.” The R’s are being played like a violin....

Romney is unelectable.

He is slick and had no principles. He makes Richard Nixon look good.

And he lost to a candidate even less likeable than him - which says a lot about how the GOP establishment learned nothing and forget everything about his electoral debacle.

Their moderate Republican couldn’t even carry swing states.

NO!

Not because I don’t think Willard is a bad man, he is a decent person. Not because he isn’t a good manager, he is a great manager, maybe the best businessman in America. Only because he is not Conservative. We need a deep in the bones conservative who can articulate the Conservative cause and isn’t afraid to attack the Demons on the other side.

Once elected he must go hog wild on the government beats and kill many programs.

Willard won’t do that.

These guys assured us only a Romney could win, and then assured us that Romney was on his way to a landslide.

The horrible sad fact of the matter is...Romney is probably the favorite for 2016 GOP primary.

Adlai Romneystein.

I've been saying this for a while:

We need to encourage Romney to run, as if he could win. And Ryan. And Christie. And Jeb. They need to all run until the end.

In the meant time we get behind one conservative early. It may be the only way to ensure we get an actual conservative as the nominee.
