Americans should be more concerned about their privacy being invaded by the spread of drones, Justice Sonia Sotomayor told an Oklahoma City audience on Thursday.
Speaking before a group of faculty members and students at Oklahoma City University’s law school on Sept. 11, Justice Sotomayor said “frightening” changes in surveillance technology should encourage citizens to take a more active role in the privacy debate. She said she’s particularly troubled by the potential for commercial and government drones to compromise personal privacy.
Said Justice Sotomayor:
There are drones flying over the air randomly that are recording everything that’s happening on what we consider our private property. That type of technology has to stimulate us to think about what is it that we cherish in privacy and how far we want to protect it and from whom. Because people think that it should be protected just against government intrusion, but I don’t like the fact that someone I don’t know…can pick up, if they’re a private citizen, one of these drones and fly it over my property.
Technological advances make it possible for devices to “listen to your conversations from miles away and through your walls,” Justice Sotomayor said. “We are in that brave new world, and we are capable of being in that Orwellian world, too.”

More alarmed about the spread of Sotomayor.
She’s just concerned that someday someone with a drone with a parabolic antenna is going to capture a conversation of her colluding with the Holder DOJ and Dem Congressional leaders on how to rule on cases before the Court.
Yeah! Whatever happened to good old fashioned Cruise Missiles like Clinton used?
We’re more alarmed by the invasion of diseased illegal, Sotomeyor.
Drones should be outlawed period. Citizens should be allowed to shoot them down (OK, maybe not).
The government should be restricted from using them over U.S. soil without a warrant.
Is a ‘spread’ of drones anything like a spread of duck decoys?
Is she saying we should worry about the drones that fly, or the drones who vote Democrat?
I am. Two more drones on the SCOTUS bench and this country is toast!

Ho, ho, ho. Sotomayor is so stupid. What we need is more drones, and more surveillance! Full-scale monitoring, 24/7. If she’s worried about it, it must be good!
If ya catch my drift
I am less concerned about a private citizen (who has limited funds and is personally responsible for any illegal activities) than I am about a government agent (who has virtually unlimited funds and will not suffer any legal repercussions for their actions).
Lets start with restricting what the government can observe/record and what they can do with the data that they collect.
