A day after Secretary of State John Kerry cautioned against "war fever," administration officials on Friday said the U.S. is indeed waging a war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, otherwise known as ISIL).
However, the administration is still trying to draw a distinction between this new "war" and the previous war the U.S. waged in Iraq, which included putting American troops on the ground in Iraq for combat operations.
"The United States is at war with ISIL in the same way that we are at war with al Qaeda and its al Qaeda affiliates all around the globe," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Friday.

But, Josh...we aren’t “at war” with al Qaeda either. Or is that want you are insinuating?
Sure. Obama’s fighting a “war” against ISIS by giving weapons to them and their allies in Syria. Now that Mubarak and Kaddafi are dead, it all must be Assad’s fault. Or maybe Bush’s. Or Reagan’s.
Anyway, it’s all too complicated to understand, so let’s side with the enemy and give them more weapons to attack our allies.
Friday: war against ISIS
Saturday: manage ISIS
Sunday: degrade ISIS
Monday: send ISIS to hell
Tuesday: ally with ISIS against Assad
Wednesday: gay pride day
Thursday: red-line ISIS

“Old Bolt neck”. aka John Kerry, is a name that Chris Plante, of WMAL radio in DC gave the Secretary of State. The name is a perfect fit, and Frankenstein has already been taken.
They have no idea in their faculty lounge meetings if they are on foot or on horseback. What a sad time for America and the world.
