U.S. to train 5,000 Syrian rebels to fight militants

The Pentagon has announced that it expects to train 5,000 Syrian rebels per year as part of President Obama's new campaign to battle Islamic State militants.

Details of the administration's $500 million plan to train and equip Syrian rebels to fight the Islamic State began to surface Friday when Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby outlined the goals that U.S. military planners expected to achieve.

Well, we trained a whole Iraqi army, half of which ran away or defected to ISIS with their equipment.

Now training 5,000 Sunni a year is supposed to bring significant changes and a tolerant government respective of
the rights of minorities in Syria??

Obamas summer 2013 plan to help the rebels is happening now. Same exact crap, but its called “attacking ISIS”. Just watch, by the time Obama is done, here’s what happens. The rebels use the aid to fight Assad and take over. Then ISIS takes over in the chaos after the fall of Assad.

Obama's idea of "no boots on the ground" does seem to mean arming, training, and financing armies of mercenaries. They're mostly not going to die if they don't have to for someone else's agenda. They'll take the money and arms and leave. They won't give up power and weapons easily (if ISIS hasn't already confiscated them) when the fighting's over and the US decides who the next leader will be.

Except for the globalist agenda, there's no sane reason to not be supporting Assad.
