DERVEN, Albania (AP) — The one-room, stone church of St. Nicholas has sat on the top of a hill here since the 16th century, destroyed three times and rebuilt in a testament to the Catholic presence in this region that dates to St. Paul. Its latest incarnation, however, is particularly poignant: 15 Muslim families chipped in to help rebuild it in a sign of the remarkable coexistence that exists in Albania between Christians and Muslims.

Pope Francis will highlight this interfaith harmony when he makes a one-day trip to the Balkan nation on Sunday, holding it up as a model for the Middle East and other parts of the world where Christians are being targeted by Islamic militants.....

They’re helping rebuild it for the sole purpose of taking pleasure in tearing it down again...

or they’ll make addition and to a complete makeover in the name of their gawd....

The only ties between muslims and Christians are the ones used to immobilize Christian hands behind their backs while the muslims saw off said Christian head with a knife.

A month ago this Pope was nearly calling for modern Crusades. Now this? I’m disappointed. I was hoping for Crusades.

The 15 Muslim families should become quite uncomfortable at such an announcement. “Endangered”, may be the better word.

.."since the 16th century, destroyed three times and rebuilt in a testament to the Catholic presence in this region".... Maybe it was destroyed because God knew the Muslims would re-build it then take it over...which they assuredly will do...Muslims LOVE to build on or takeover what they see as Christian sites.

The Muslim families who helped rebuild the church seem to be better “Christians” than some of the posters on this thread.

They remind of the guy who cared for Marcus Lattrel.

There are some humans among them...

I was going to say the same thing.

But, maybe they are the exception? /s

I do not like muslims...

Funny, my spell check says that spelling of their cult is a mistake.

Similar things happen in Singapore. Whatever form of Islam that is practiced their is very quiet, respectful and giving to both the Christian and, the smaller (but growing), Hindu population. The difference may be that the government is strictly secular and will jump on any group that may start causing trouble.

First thing that came to mind were the visions of some Catholics from about a decade ago, about the last Pope being gunned down by Muslims returning from a site on a hill.

steve86, I join castlegreyskull in asking you what you are talking about. I read and re-read all the posts on this short thread and don’t see anything here that would elicit a comment as stupid as yours. Please elaborate.

I think he was possibly talking about my post. Where I said “I was hoping for Crusades”.

Don’t we have a God given right to self defense? I believe so. The muslim cult clearly will only stop once they have conquered the world. Not even then. But they could never possibly reach the stars. Not as a society under sharia law, not in a million years. They’ll just chew khat.

What have muslims accomplished that contribute to humanity as a whole? I’m talking scientific. Not social issue BS.
