COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine released a surveillance video Wednesday showing John Crawford III being shot to death by police last month in a Dayton-area Walmart.
DeWine's release of the video and 9-1-1 recording coincided with a Greene County grand jury finding that Beavercreek police were justified in shooting the 22-year-old man, whom they believed was armed with a rifle.
In the footage, Crawford is seen talking on a cell phone and waving what turned out to be an air rifle at the end of a store aisle. Police arrived after a 9-1-1 caller reported that a man was waving around a gun and pointing it at people.

One month later, Ritchie puts it differently. “At no point did he shoulder the rifle and point it at somebody,” the 24-year-old said, in an interview with the Guardian.
Ritchie told several reporters after the 5 August shooting that he was an “ex-marine”. When confronted with his seven-week service record, however, he confirmed that he had been quickly thrown out of the US marine corps in 2008 after being declared a “fraudulent enlistment”, over what he maintains was simply a mixup over his paperwork.
That's two lies, if you are keeping count.

I don’t think anyone had time to establish anything. Doubt the cop know who he was. Like a kid with buck fever, shoot and then check to see if it has horns.
This was murder and Ronald Ritchie is an accomplice to this murder.
I do find Crawford's actions very odd. Apparently picking the rifle up in passing and going to a secluded section of the store and conversing for some time while unsafely handling the weapon.
This wasn't a pair of boots or a roll of paper towels.
I find it interesting that he was arrested for ag robbery with a concealed weapon last year.

I know of 2 cases here where perps tried to commit robberies with pellet guns and were killed by armed citizens.
This air rifle was as powerful as a .22 LR.
