In a speech at the United Nations on Wednesday, US President Barack Obama urged those in the Muslim world to emphatically reject extremist ideology spread by groups such as al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
"It is time for the world especially Muslim communities to explicitly, forcefully, and consistently reject the ideology of al Qaeda and ISIL," said Obama.
But some Muslims took to Twitter to express their weariness over repeatedly having to apologize for atrocities committed by Islamic extremists, sparking the Twitter trend #MuslimApologies.

Nobody wants their apologies, but how about some help with turning the bad guys in.
Also, instead of apologizing, why not just quit. The religion isn’t a religion and it sucks.
If you have to not take your holy book seriously to be part of a religion why would you want to be part of that religion?
Ask them about the Jews and the true Muslim comes out.
Get them out.
Now.
Let them be offended elsewhere.
There’s no such thing as a “peaceful” muslim. And I don’t want an apology. I want you gone.
Alternatively, they could all GTFO of our Western-Civilization homelands. That would spare them contact with people to whom they should apologize.
I guess we know where Ali Rezvi stands on the issue.
I’m a Muslim and all I got was a lousy T Shirt apologizing for being a Muslim.
Islam has a public relations problem no glib T Shirt slogan will fix.
“Peaceful Muslims (majority) shouldn’t have to apologize for the violent minority that actually takes the Quran seriously.”
That tweet says it all. They admit that if you take the religion seriously you’re going to be violent. So what’s the point of being a “moderate Muslim” if even the moderates admit there’s no such thing?
I’d just like an acknowledgement from Muslims and their apologists that there is something about Islam which seems to produce a violent nihilism in some of its followers.
Puts me in mind of a local story here about a young man (20, I think) of Somali extraction who went off to Syria to fight with IS, and is now believed dead (good riddance). His parents are so shocked and disappointed, but maybe they should be asking just what is going on at their, or other mosques. Christians get hauled in front of human rights commissions for holding on to and proclaiming their (non-violent) beliefs about gays, for example, but apparently Muslims have carte blanche to preach hatred and violence in their mosques, and if we dare to investigate or criticize, we’re “Islamophobes”.
I don’t believe it. I think it’s a ploy to keep a lid on
things long enough until they have their demographics
built up. When something happens they always say it’s
the jews. When that don’t pan out they play the victim
card. No matter how they fool everyone in the
end they will always fear their own people more than
they fear everyone else and side with evil. That’s just
the way muslims are.
“the violent minority that actually takes the Quran seriously.”
Yep, the majority just aren’t dedicated enough.
He appears to be a Muslim (just reading his HuffPo profile) who recognizes the rot at the core of his religion, which may be why he calls himself a Muslim atheist. Check this article, for instance: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ali-a-rizvi/why-i-decided-to-call-myself-an-atheist-muslim_b_3261226.html
No such thing = moderate Islam.
If you hate Islam, leave it!
Actions speak far louder than words. Either you’re with us or you’re against us.
And if you remain a Muslim you endorse the people you claim you oppose.
moderate Muslim
You know what a moderate Muslim is.
A radical muslim without a tactical advantage.
That’s all, otherwise same thing.
YOU STOP IT, OR WE WILL KILL YOU ALL.
mine has a ring to it.
worked with the klan in the 30’s.
“His parents are so shocked and disappointed,”
Oh I doubt that. Inside they are probably proud as hell
if they are muslim. They all lie like an Obama.
