Air Strikes Against ISIS Are Not Working, Say Syrian Kurds Isis fighters have pushed to the edge of Kobani, undeterred by western strikes, says city official
Constanze Letsch in Istanbul, Paul Lewis in Washington and Nicholas Watt 5 October 2014 Air strikes against Isis targets in northern Syria have failed to stop the militants from advancing towards the centre of the city of Kobani, Kurds have said, in the latest indication that aerial power alone may not defeat the jihadists.
Fighting between the Islamist militants and Syrian Kurds continued unabated despite another volley of coalition air strikes in and around the Kobani enclave, Idris Nassan, Kobanis foreign affairs minister, told the Guardian.
There are fierce clashes between Isis and YPG [Peoples Defence Corps] fighters, at the moment mainly to the south-east of the city. Isis now stands at two kilometres from the city centre, Nassan said by phone. I can hear the bombs and shells here.

I read a few weeks ago, when this was getting started, that Commandante Zero demanded that all air missions in Syria receive his personal approval.
Well, here we are. So far, Barry has approved missions that are ineffective at halting ISIS. This is either an operational failure on the part of the men carrying out these missions, or this is a failure at the tactical level that His Barryness has insisted on overseeing in a manner that is pretty peculiar for a CiC.
I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
Dumbasses need to use napalm or cluster bombs, instead of micro munitions.
Obammy’s plan B,
Go to another fundraiser then get bent over by reggie love
Sounds like ISIS is the new Vietnam to me, somehow we can’t beat the ME fascists like we couldn’t beat the Vietnamese Communists. Combine that with a gullible electorate who can’t see past their own #$% and we are pretty much seeing more devastation than Global Warming carried out against the so-called enemy. And yes, I wish we used the “right” bomb, or possibly a MOAB.
If Obama had been involved with the operation it would have crashed long ago.
Which reminds me...I think I'll just be absent from voting in November. :(
There haven’t been many air strikes, and there won’t be many more — but after the election, Zero will have more leeway.
Not one damn thing.
