"Yet some scientists who have long studied Ebola say such assurances are premature and they are concerned about what is not known about the strain now on the loose. It is an Ebola outbreak like none seen before, jumping from the bush to urban areas, giving the virus more opportunities to evolve as it passes through multiple human hosts.
Dr. C.J. Peters, who battled a 1989 outbreak of the virus among research monkeys housed in Virginia and who later led the CDCs most far-reaching study of Ebolas transmissibility in humans, said he would not rule out the possibility that it spreads through the air in tight quarters."

Seems like the info on this changes more and more by the minute.
Scary......
Like i have said before, they are worried because is a very different strain than what we have seen before.
Racist.</sarc>
It’s just a matter of time before the ebola carriers start showing up in the border states. The holes in our defense are far too obvious for the enemy to ignore.

That phrase describes the conditions encountered in air travel....

COMMENTARY: Health workers need optimal respiratory protection for Ebola
let me see
who should I believe?
some gov’t official from an alphabet agency?
because NO gov’t official has lied to us ( IRS DOJ VA POTUS )
or scientists who have spent years studying this disease.
gee I can’t decide,
Now at school, I was watching a wrestling match and between bouts they washed the pads with a chlorine disinfectant. They also stopped matches when an opponent was showing blood. That is now a government mandated response and no one thinks it is irrational.
Please read the interview with Peter Piet who discovered Ebola in 1976.
His doomsday scenario is Ebola reaching Lagos, Nigeria and India (lot of migrant workers in West Africa).
American experts WRONG!?
Gee, who’d’a thunk it?
Exactly. Like listening to that candy-ass Freden giving us his absolute assurances to the drip drip drip of “not so fast my friend” on a daily basis
I don’t trust these PC clowns one bit. They’re playing with fire and we are at risk.
Get them out now.
And just out of curiosity, what IS the strain currently "on the loose?" Has anyone reported this? Has it been identified? Not that the typical layperson would necessarily do anything differently with that information, but some of us would like to know...especially if it's a NEW strain.
Basically, they say that you have to come in contact with “bodily fluids” to be exposed.
Well, this virus gives flu-like symptoms, which means that people have sneezing, coughing, and runny noses - those first two can project “bodily fluids” into the air for several FEET!
So, this whole “don’t worry” crap is just that - CRAP!!!
Previous strains burned themselves out in Africa. This one has made the jump. This one has also been dropping medical personnel like flies and seems to be defeating biohazard approaches that worked in the past. No matter how much the talking heads rattle on about they have it under control, it seems like they are getting taken to the cleaners. One can only assume that this current outbreak is a more virulent strain than previous outbreaks and the talking heads are not being honest with the public (as usual).
“...said he would not rule out the possibility that it spreads through the air in tight quarters.”
Ok, let’s speak plainly. That means if someone breathes in your face you can get it. That means if you are talking to someone standing right in front of you, you can get it.
“Tight quarters” is like, oh, lets say... AN AIRPLANE?
I wouldn’t be surprised if health care workers stop showing up for work in the big medical centers that admit Ebola patients.
