I don’t think it would be out of the realm to request asylum...

He will do it on January 19, 2017. Just after he finishes singing those 9000 pardons.

Why not just rent it out? America is probably going to need it again once we can throw the Kenyan’s ass out of the White House and we get back to kicking the Islamoterrorists asses again.

The fact is we have a radical Muslim as President. How much more evidence do people need?

Well if they ever start teaching kids in school that Islam is a great religion, or start building prayer rooms and foot baths then the people surely will rise up. </s>

[Does he not realize that people would see him as even less competent than they do now?]

He doesn’t expect to influence the mainstream but to throw a bone to his shrinking liberal base. He is losing his base by the hour and is in a panic—a dangerous state of mind for a president.

You could have fooled me! I thought he was way ahead of schedule and could just spend the last two on the golf course.

Actually traitor means one who has gone over to the side of the enemy. In this case he has been the enemy all along, the correct word is infiltrator, usurper, there may be an even better choice that is not occurring to me now but traitor is definitely NOT the correct term. You cannot switch to the side of the enemy if you have always been the enemy.

I see your point. Obama has certainly been working for the enemy, or if you’re religiously inclined, The Enemy, from Day One.

"Obama Weighs Options to Close Guantanamo"

I have been searching the web to see where this idea came from.

Does anyone know what started the push to close Gitmo in the first place? Was this just campaign rhetoric that got out of hand or was there a reason given for bringing terrorists into our jails and courts?

It’s been a Liberal demand for quite some time. The drumbeat started slowly maybe a year after 9/11 and picked up a lot of steam after 2006. It was wrapped up with a lot of anti-Bush rhetoric.

Strangely, after Obama got elected, the Left has been pretty quiet on Gitmo. Or....maybe not so strangely at that. The only one really pushing the issue now is Obama.

Was there ever a purpose given for the idea that made any sense ...something to debate or argue against?

I believe the assertion was that Gitmo gave us a bad reputation with the rest of the world.

So would the reputation be because we aren't letting them all go, or because we are keeping them in a remote place? In either case, so what?

I don't understand how some of these arguments become such a big deal with the media.

Dunno dude. It’s not my issue and I certainly don’t have all the answers.

"It’s not my issue and I certainly don’t have all the answers."

I guess those are rhetorical questions. I just can't pin point where this idea came from and it bugs me.
