Updated 6:40 p.m. | In one of the hottest House races in the country, a top Republican recruit has become mired in a dispute over sexual harassment allegations, presenting the GOP with a high-profile distraction in one of its best pickup opportunities.
Former San Diego Councilmember Carl DeMaio is a Republican running against freshman Democratic Rep. Scott Peters in a San Diego-based district. One of DeMaio’s former staffers, Todd Bosnich, sat down for an interview with CNN in which he described in vivid detail his harassment allegations. DeMaio has denied Bosnich’s allegations.

When DeMaio was on the San Diego then council member Ben Hueso (now Democrat assemblyman who was arrested for drunk driving a few weeks ago) claimed that he saw DeMaio masturbating in the city hall restroom. Of course there were no other witnesses. If you are a Republican homosexual or a black conservative like Clarence Thomas the Democrats will accuse you of being a sex pervert. If the Republicans did that to Democrats there would be hell to pay. What a bunch of fake, phony, frauds!

I’m in this district. We use to normally have a Republican Rep until the district boundaries were rigged to allow a Democrat scumbag like Peterson to win.
I’ll have to admit I donated $50 to DeMaio after becoming totally disgusted with the outrageous attack ads Peterson has been running. They even go so far to accuse DeMaio of being a Tea Party lackey. Totally laughable, but the LIVs eat it up. Peterson is a dirt bag of the highest order.
While on the San Diego city council, DeMaio tried to do the right thing with respect to out of control public pensions. On that basis, I figured he is more worthy than the libtard incumbent. At this point, I don’t care that he’s gay if he’s fiscally conservative.
I really think these allegations, 3 weeks before the election, are totally fabricated. The local media is helping out by giving plenty of air time to the accuser. This is typical last minute dirty thug politics from the Dems with support from the lamestream media.

In 2012, DeMaio lost to Bob Filner for San Diego Mayor. Bob Filner resigned as mayor after only 8 months in office due to a sexual harrassment scandal.
DeMaio did not run in the 2013 mayoral special election to replace Filner. The Republican who ran and won was Kevin Faulconer. DeMaio had a promise of big Republican for his congressional run in 2014.
Big Republican donors were counting on his marquee name on next June’s ballot to draw conservatives to the polls and help the party’s down-ballot candidates. They also preferred to back a less divisive figure like Faulconer for mayor after Mayor Bob Filner’s combative tenure ended after less than nine months amid a sexual harassment scandal.

I don't live in this congressional district, so I be casting a vote. My opinion is that San Diego does not need another elected official that can't keep it zipped. I would prefer that DeMaio not win this election.

I agree that Scott Peters ads are disgusting and outrageous.
I read about a guy that went through a nightmare for years and spent a fortune on lawyers to clear his name because he was spotted stopping to pee in an alley by an abandoned warehouse. Someone got his license and he was charged for public indecency, put on probation and on a sex offender list.
But gays can perform oral sex on their floats in a gay pride parade and it's ok. This battle has already been lost folks!
