This sucks.
I used to get top notch Foie Gras from Ca.
Oh well, Braunschweiger will have to do.
States’ Rights?
Unless the laws uphold traditional values....
I just read up on it. Seems kinda unnecessarily cruel. I wouldn’t eat the stuff on general principle.
This California law, is fully protected by the 10th Amendment imo. And if California voters don’t like the law but just sit on their hands and don’t work with state lawmakers to do something about it, then Californians deserve the big state government that they have helped to foster with their apathy.
I’ve never had an interest in the stuff-I don’t like any kind of duck/goose-and I probably can’t afford it anyway. But I’m fine with letting each state do whatever it wants to about food items-why should anyone else be involved?
Gota believe the Hollywood elites are some of the main consumers...at least I like to think so!!!
duck duck goose
I used to eat canned Foie Gras when I was with the French, it came in their field rations, along with a tiny bottle of Brandy and a full 20 pack of unfiltered Gauloises cigarettes, it was good.
I don’t necessarily agree with the ban, but I don’t see how it violates the US Constitution.
SACRAMENTO Seemingly an afterthought, the last appetizer listed on the menu at Restaurant Thir13en is a brioche that, at $21, may sound overpriced even if it is house made and comes with strawberry rhubarb purée and a bacon chip. Accompanying it, though, are complimentary seared foie gras and foie panna cotta.
You can get it in Texas!!!
